http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sh … 982939.eceTHE world’s most famous comic book hero has breathed his last Bat breath.
Bruce Wayne – who by night is Batman – gets murdered by a man claiming to be the father he thought was dead.
In a highly controversial new storyline Bruce, who first appeared in 1939, is killed by Simon Hurt – the leader of the shady Black Glove organisation.
Simon claims he is really Dr Thomas Wayne, saying he faked his own passing when Bruce was a child.
The superhero dies when he tries to stop his foe escaping by helicopter in the new comic Batman R.I.P.
Writer Grant Morrison said: “This is so much better than death. People have killed characters in the past but to me, that kind of ends the story!
"I like to keep the story twisting and turning. So what I am doing is a fate worse than death. Things that no one would expect to happen to these guys at all.
"This is the end of Bruce Wayne as Batman."
Batman will live on though, with another character filling his Batsuit.
Wat? EVERYTHING I ONCE KNEW WAS A LIE!

Wait...really?
Holy shit. Why would DC do that?
It's like the killing of Captain America by Marvel...but this is BATMAN. Shit.

The Sun...
Such a stupid idea
That's so gay.
Spoiler (highlight to read):
Bruce Wayne doesn't die til he's 55, when as per the orders of one R. Regan, Superman confronts him but is defeated by Batman's cunning, however Bruce Wayne has a heart attack (supposedly) and dies. Batman retires and runs an underground gang of vigilantes, making sure that in Batman's absence Gotham is not over run by crime.
And so despite Bruce Wayne dead and Batman in hiding the Dark Knight will reign eternal.
That's the only ending of Batman I will ever accept.

While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
I did, but that's not the way Batman ends.War Man wrote:

I bet Bruce Wayne's long lost son John will take his place.
Gotham City became the richest city in the world after selling the batlight on ebay.
I think it's a good character development.CapnNismo wrote:

Err I don't know much about comic books but don't they have like 50000 alternate realities with the same characters? Kinda like: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of … Men_comics. Milking fictional characters for as much as money as possible ftw.
Well I've always thought Batman was one of the lamest/worst superheroes out of them all. Even though the films were good, that doesn't change the fact that he is, imfo, one of the lamest/worst superheroes.
Yeah, I don't get Comics either. Everybody just dismisses what they don't personally like as "non-canon" and so that's why there's a billion different versions so that everyone can have their own version of how they want their superhero to be. Me, I've never even read a single comic in my life, or ever watched any cartoons/TV shows. I've only ever watched the films (some of them)

he doesn't have any super powers and lets face it, his costume and the idea of a BAT MAN is pretty lame.
Although he does have a nice car and a nice bike, but that's just it.

Then you're not really qualified to comment. Batman is one of the best comic book characters ever. Go and read some of the Batman comics by Frank Miller or Alan Moore and you'll see why.Mekstizzle wrote:
