Static while using mic and recording

Lately I've been told a few times that my mic is either scratchy, or just plain static.
This is not always the case, but it does happen.

Also, whenever I record game footage, the recorded sound comes out as static too.

Re-install your audio drivers.

Make sure your mic is plugged in properly.

Don't spit into the mic.

Clean the mic

Try talking into it and move the wire around, sometimes mine gets static if it moves much (damaged wire D:)
