So I'm considering upgrading or a whole new build once the new AMD processors hit the market. And have been getting more interested in DFI boards the more I look at them. Any one have any experiece with them? I will be looking to play around a fair bit with overclocking on it.
On a side note... does anyone know if there will be much, if any preformace boost between the AM3 Deneb and AM2+ Deneb?
Oh and potentially looking at:

My dfi NF4ultra-D was awesome. Don't have much experience with the new boards, but they are supposed to be great.

AM3 and AM2+ won't really make much of a difference. The higher speeds of DDR3 are negated by higher latencies.

Ahhh... I've been wondering about that... no doubt the AM3 build would come with a hefty price tag too.... something I'm not looking forward to since I'll probably have to sell my current PC and paintball gun to fund this....

no idea what the performance of Deneb is yet alone what the difference is between AM2+ and AM3. That is something we need to wait and see.

Most DFI boards are great. Especially for overclockers. Some have had issues with the board's PWM that has died quite easily BUT THAT IS NOW PAST.

Overall I would say DFI is a premium board manufacturer and you should be happy with their board IF THE SPECS AND LOOKS OF THE BOARD SUIT YOU.

We know what the difference is. AM2+ will only take DDR2, AM3 will take DDR2 and DDR3

ATM we're guessing that Deneb will do about 10% less clock per clock than nehalem

ah I see.

AMD will have hard time topping Intel in number crunching tho as they have HT support and that way can do 8 threads same time.

If the price is right they could have a winner on their hands. Support for current mobos, no need for DDR3, seems to OC very well

I'm running a DFI board right now - the X48-T2R. I have no clue about how it overclocks, as I bought it mainly for it's large number of PCI slots and SATA ports.
From what I hear, the BIOS is massive and somewhat confusing, but if you know your way around you can do some serious tweaking.

Yes the BIOS can be confusing as there are alot of options usually on them.  That said my first performance board was a DFI Ultra-d s939 and had no problems figuring it out quickly.  It has also been a rock stable board which now resides in my server (though running at stock now)

Not really sure how good the newer boards are as I haven't heard much about them, but I've never heard anything bad particularly about them.  I'm pretty sure I'll go back to DFI for my next board.

DFI had pretty much the best OC'ing boards available back on AMD 939.

They don't really hold that title anymore though. Most of their boards are very picky about what memory will run in them. I've seen it across 3-4 different boards of theirs.
