I wasn't necessarily comparing the game to the drug, just saying I don't need to play the thing to know how addictive and potentially harmful it can be. I've played a lot of BF2 over the years.Defiance wrote:
Yes, the drug argument. Incomparable.
Addictive and harmful are misstatements. Any activity can be addictive in the same way that any videogame is, all depending on the person and their desire for the intangible rewards, but no videogame is explicitly harmful.Reciprocity wrote:

If you're susceptible to get 'hooked' on a game, then you can get hooked on basically anything. Everyone has their own poison, their own vices and their own guilty pleasures. If a person gets so immersed in World of Warcraft (that cheesy, unrealistic and boring MMO experience) then they could just as easily get 'addicted' to any other MMO, or any other game for that matter. It's not really an argument against the game when you point out flaws with the person. Tell your friend to grow a spine and get a life; don't blame the end-product when it's far from the original cause.

Soooo how is the game?
It's pretty good, although easier than ever.
Could be a good or a bad thing, depending on personal preference.

After doing 60-70 and knowing its going to twice as long to 80 i gave up all hope.
So i back to dungeon raiding once a week.
Takes at least 4-6 hours to level doing quests seriously my warrior just whoops ass with titan grip!
so F U to u WoW haters
so F U to u WoW haters
I have a lvl 70 warrior but got bored with WoW and WoW:BC, I don't know I had a lot of fun with my guild but I just got bored. The missions while new were never different. Don't get me wrong it is a great game, but it didn't have as broad a spectrum as SWG did at its introduction. I don't like the current SWG and hope that SW:TOR is a better game. WoW was fun but it's not a game I can continue on with.
From what i've played so far, yes its easy, only one group quest (during levelling) i was not able to solo with my Warlock and my trusty Felguard, which i find kinda wierd. I've done most dungeons on normal (during levelling again) and without any prior knowledge of the boss fights we steamrolled them all.Uzique wrote:

But i'm actually looking at going hard on PvP now, i wonder how that will pan out once everyone gears up

Can cause you to puke if copious amounts of straight tequila were consumed the night before.
EDIT: Wonder if it's worth getting this or just going for WAR. I used to play WoW and on the whole WAR sounds better.

Nope, WAR was a flop.
Just like AoC.
Trust me I've bought both and 3 month subscriptions, complete waste of money... stopped playing both before the first month was up.

A challenger appears.
A better challenger has appeared
Cheesy and boring come down to personal opinion, but chastising the fantasy game for being unrealistic? It's luls.Uzique wrote:
