Ok so i installed cod4 on my new computer.... and single player works fine, no problems at all...

except everytime i try to play multi-player it comes up with this "iw3mp.exe has stopped working" ... so multiplayer wont work.

i have reinstalled a few times.... uninstalled off old computer...

Could it be because im on 64bit vista? i dont think it would be since all my other games have been fine and singleplayer is fine...

so any suggestions?

Make sure you have the current DX9 installed.

Make sure you have updated video drivers.

Have DX10 and current DX9

have current video drivers.. i installed them like a day ago.

i dunno for sure.. but why would system specs be a problem if he is able to run single player? unless he is missing a network adapter and im sure our friend here isnt... that would possibly be the stupidest question i have heard.

Go through CD, grab the exe again and replace yours? Run in compatibility mode? I take it you've already googled the error...

found the problem.... onboard realtek HD sound for some reason was incompatible with cod4.... however this was fixed in a later patch... id forgotten to download the patches for cod4... oops lol
