I was playing BF2 and i ranked up to sergent, but instead of choosing my new gun on BF2 i decided i would install SF that i had just purchased and unlock one of the new guns. I installed SF patched it up to 1.21 and opened it up.
Upon starting up it opened the weapon unlock box but there was only BF2 guns there which annoyed me. This made me ask: "Do i have to play SF to get the special unlocks?"
Thats my first question.
Secondly, i decided to try out some new multiplayer maps. I found a good server and joined. after the game had loaded and the "join game" button had apperared it crashed back to server menu with a message saying that i had modified content and must revert BF2 back to its original form.
Does BF2 think that its own expansion is a mod? this annoyed me.
If anyone can answer these questions or maybe point me in the right direction that would be much appreciated.
Here are some factors that might contribute. (Im seriously not sure about these. but they might mean something)
My BF2 was the 3 CD version and my SF was the 1 disc DVD version.
I used the 350mb 1.2 patch then the small 15 or so megabyte 1.21 patch.
