Gutted Switch mate, he was well liked up there and I'm glad he wasn't sacked. Sunderlands loss I fear mate. Hope your new boss don't want Chopra back, or is willing to sell him if we can stump up the cash.
You guys may have noticed my Roy Keane sig and avatar disappeared a few days ago - I guessed this was coming.
I feel indifferent today.
Roy has done a fantastic job in getting us out of the shit that we were in two and a half years ago, getting us back in the big time and keeping us there.
Although I supported him til the end, I was getting a little frustrated with his incessant squad rotation. The club needs to field its best XI week in week out and Roy wasn't doing that. I think it's probably one of the main reasons for our recent poor form.
Anyway, thanks for bringing back the good times Keano - Goodbye

Although I will agree he's made some poor signings, I think people place too much emphasis on how much he's spent. Keane has more or less had to rebuild the side from scratch, and spent £40M last season just to keep us up. That in its self was well worth it. This seasons signings, Chimbonda, Ferdinand, McCartney, Malbranque, Tainio and Cisse are all quality. Players of that calibre command a premium.

Not really, as switch says the players are actually good quality players and sunderland's starting 11 with all players fit would be very impressive, easily a mid-table side.smuder201 wrote:

As for Allardyce, it will be interesting as we all know what kind of football he likes to play, yet I don't think sunderland have the players to do that...we'll see.
