Yeah, after all the bullshit I've read about people going through with this game, I'm just going to download it. I was quite happy to buy it, as I did with San Andreas, as 25 quid is a perfectly reasonably price for a game, but screw all this hassle. I'm tempted to email Rockstar informing them that I'm downloading it because they're a bunch of cunts who can't write software properly.
I've got vista 32bit, upgraded to SP1, installed gta then opened rockstar social club and logged out of it, then skipped the login and I can play single player fine.
I don't even know why you people wish to play the game. After played it on the Xbox i was thouroughly unimpressed by anything/everything it had to offer.
The graphics were mediochre (although they'd probably look better on PC), the gameplay was hardly any different to previous GTA's and there was significantly reduced content over SA.
Not only would i not buy the game i wouldn't even pirate the game. Not worth your time tbh.

The game was an evolution of the GTA series. Much more gritty and realistic. How can you say the graphics were mediocre? That just tells me you didnt spend alot of time with the game. This game is EXTREMELY detailed. The graphics are top notch for the size and scope of the gameworld. Im not trying to say GTAIV was the holy grail of gaming, but everyone knocks it for some reason, when it was a great game.

I'll grant you that i didn't play much of the story, so i can't comment about that and maybe i didn't play enough of the game to examine it in detail. But after playing it for a couple of hours and watching my gf play it for a while i really had no will to continue playing it as it didn't impress me at all. The previous GTA games have had me enthralled to the point where i would lose significant amounts of sleep playing it.
