Press 1 to Kill

I was thinking the other day that my style of play has changed several times over the course of 400+ hours.  Here is a list of the different styles I have found myself playing while progressing through this game.

1.) Originally I played medic because I heard it was good at getting points.  I played most of the maps, but like most was attracted to Karkand.  I played medic on Karkand almost exclusively for my first 10 hours or so.

2.) Finding my K:D ratio all out of kilter I then turned to the n00b t00b.  I quickly mastered that and got my K:D near 1.00.

3.) Now I turned to the armor phase.  I saw how much damage a well driven tank could do on Karkand and decided to give it a try.  The joys of an Engineer + a tank overcame me for a long while.  I tank whored on Karkand like so many before and after me.

4.) Once I was bored of the armor, I decided I wanted to take armor out because I knew how mad it made me to lose a tank.  I turned to Spec Ops and the C4.  I wasn't one of those crazy C4 chuckers, but I held my own.  This was right about the time that you could earn points for destroying enemy assets.

5.) Biggest Leap: Knifing.  I never really used the knife, but then a couple friends and I created the Knifedudes squad.  Our goal was to knife wherever possible, and sometimes where not possible.  The switch in mentality made all the difference.  I didn't care too much about dying or points, just about how I could better myself at knifing.  There were umpteen rounds that I used nothing but a knife.  The close combat and feeling you get when you embarrass the opponent with your blade is all the rush I need.  "Press 1 to Kill" became our motto.

6.) My hours at this time were split between Assault, Medic, Spec Ops, and Engineer.  I didn't much care for the other kits and rarely played them.  This is about the time that Special Forces came out.  I was instantly hooked and couldn't get enough of it.  My SPM jumped drastically when SF came out.  I guess I was quicker to adapt to the 'somewhat' new style of play.  I started to use the AT kit with a DAO-12 and an RPG.

7.)  Then patch 1.2 arrived and I found the joys of the support class.  It was easy to get up to my 16 hours and get my vet badges after the PKM became so powerful.  Soon after I got my sniper badges while forcing myself to play that kit.  I am NOT a sniper by trade and it's not my favorite kit.  I like to be right by the action and not staring at it from far away (refer to #5).

8.) Now I am playing the kits that fit best with the map/goal of our squad.

Sorry for the long post.

1) Spec ops almsot all the time.
2) Sniper almost all the time.
3) Now I play mainly support and assault. Assault because the F2K rawks (I rarely use the GL though) and support because I need hours for veteran.

And yes knifing is fun. Earlier today I defended the square (karkand) with some good agility and knifing for about 10 minutes from multiple waves of support players.

I used to play medic when I was before corpral. But I wasted heaps of time - bad servers ment i played few games (long loading times). So at that time I pissed around.

The next part is a blur but then we come to my aviator phase. I guess I still an avaiator,  but I hardly play it due to 1.2. I got pretty good (KD of 6).

As I have come closer to the next rank (and something to do with a bet me and my bro had) I have been only playing Karkand with medic and support. 40-50pts a round always. Ill diversify once again when I get the rank.

I have also found a good few servers. Internode 7 to internode 11 (incl. 8, 9 and 10) run 8 maps before relaoding. Thats a great way to rack up some real points. 7 is shiraki then karkand, 8 is just karkand, 9-11 are wake.

1) medic - heard it was good points...used it for 21 hours with horrible k/d ratio and SPM
1 1/2) jet wh.re - was very crap at it at the start, but eventually started gettin 20 kills a round
3) sniper - extremy crap at it, about 10 score around (without the unlock...wished i unlocked it earlier)
4) support PKM hoe - still goin with it....average 25/5 a round and a score of about 60.

Still yet to get into tank whoring...never bothered to wait for one to spawn...when i try, AT kills me alot

Did you ever get to the stage where you quit Karkand and tried another map?
Kidding bro, I see only a quarter of your total time has been spent playing Karkand.

-----------------------------

My Phases:

BF1942 - I specialised in flying and Sniping.
BF1942: Expansions - I had a LOT of fun with that Jetpack in Secret Weapons.
BF:V - Kind of fun. Annoying tanks and planes, but flying those big chinooks and picking up tanks and stuff and getting good enough to squish enemy troops with them was funny, or just dropping them from great heights at people. Ended up sepcialising in Sniping again.

Okay, here I started playing Warcraft 3 with my mates. I have never won a round of 'footmen' and never even found it entartaining. Specialised in getting my arse wasted.

August 2nd - my 18th birthday. Had some time to kill before going to the pub so decided to check the old iPlay haunt and play some BF1942. To my surprise, I found a shiny new red '2' in the start menu, and immediatly played. Set up account "Tyferra" which had been my BF1942 account.

First phase: Tried single played "Dalain Plant". Had fun shooting guys and running around, (yes, running! Woo! Was really easy. Knew I was going to rule at this game more than anyone else had ever ruled.

Second phase: Joined ranked server - Sharqi peninsular. Knew nothing about anything. Went Sniper, as it had been my 1942 speciality. Shot no-one entire round. Too bad to earn Purple Heart. Kept using Sniper for many maps to come until I realised that I needed to try something more suited my skill level. Moved to Spec Ops - automatic weapon! Actually shot some people. Good times.

Third phase: Experimented with other classes and veichles. Couldn't work out how to make the medic bag heal me. Kept dropping them. Eventually earned basic Sniper, which I was stoked about, (didn't use veichles either.)

Fourth phase: Tried veichles. Found FAV and APC to my liking, didn't really like tank, and found out that as well as my Sniping prowess being made obsolete with BF2, found out that my other speciality - flying - was also redundant. Crashed a lot. Went for other basic combat badges. All but Support fairly easy. Tried for support seven times, got it on Karkand. Awarded first medal - Silver.

Fifth phase. Getting better, Sniping slightly improving, k:d ratio at about .67, accuracy at about 18%. Eventually promoted to PFV, (500 pts,) and again to Lance Corporal, (1000 pts.) Vowed to unlock M95 and become wonder-sniper. Didn't work. Kept on trucking, improving small arms efficiency, team skills and veichle operations. Started winning awards more often. Awarded Gold, than a Bronze star.

Sixth phase, (getting tired?)  Fairly efficient soldier, (although it is in this stage where I graduate to "Efficiient and Practiced soldier.") I know how to use all weapons and tools. Still can't fly for shit. 1.03 patch out, yet dosn't work on the iPlay system. Everyone else getting promoted while I stay at Lance Corporal with my less-than-trusty M95. Still keep play, gaining points until I am at 7976 points exactly. 1.12 patch comes out and I am promoted to Staff Sergeant when I am at 8005 points. Play SF for first time. Get gasses, flashed and fall asleep once while playing a night map. Earn all basic badges in an hour.

Seventh Phase: Lackey. I do others bidding and complete most objectives. Have no opinion of my own. I stay either a Squad Member or a Lone Wolf, never Squad leader or Commander. Start getting Veteran badges, and go for my knife badge. Finally get it while playing Mass Destruction. I am now a man!

Eighth, and current phase: I am Tyferra! Lord almighty! I can snipe, support, heal, repair, shoot, grenade, knife, explode and headbutt all opponents. I am profficient with all weapons, have many unlocks to play with and get much respect from my team-mates, even though I am a lower rank than most of them. Still can't fly for shit, but have trained myself and become a practised gunner in both Helicopter and Jet. Slowly learning how to fly chopper, can shoot, fly land, give targets to my gunner but can't avoid people who want to kill me. Almost promoted to First Sergeant. Life is good. I rule.

--------------------------
And you thought the first one was long.
No, I'm not expecting anyone to read this, but I think I needed to get it out. I probably missed a few phases out too.

Here are my phases:

1.  Medic, because I always played it in 1942.
2.  Engineer, because I always played Engineer in 1942 when I used armor.
3.  Sniper, because I decided to work on my medals after I had 53 hours of only medic.
4.  Currently Spec Ops working on that vetern medal.

I have always loved the knife and have almost perfected its use.  I am totally sneaking up and shoving a knife in a lot of people faces.  It's great.  Got my vet knife the other day with 9 knife kills in the same round I got vet sniper.

Things I like about each class:

Spec Ops - C4 and G36C (automatic is so much better than burst)
Sniper - Claymores and shooting accuracy (nothing better than a head shot)
Assault - I rarely use this class, but I think the assault rifle sound is the best thing...  Grenade launchers are rediculous.  Although they are good for fighting, their constant use at close range is unrealistic and are something you will never catch me doing.
Medic - G36E and ability to heal/revive.
Support - PKM, although the PKM sucks when you come up against it.
Anti-Tank - The SRAW sniper rifle...  Nothing better than getting a sniper climbing a building from the TV tower in Shiraq Peninsula.  It's so freaking hilarious, you should try it sometime.

I also think I like APC's more than Tanks because the APC can kill people more efficiently and are faster.  Besides the freakinig Abrahms gets damage when you drive over a pebble... I hope its not like that in real life...

Started with Spec Ops, got sick of that, went assault, started medicing and sniping, and finally support (Pre-1.2)

Although at one point a third of all my time played was in a jet
