Just a thought and I reliably it will never be possible:
The damn jets and also the battlechoppers should be locked for ranks like privates and/or players who have a bad K/D on the vehicles... I suggest there should be a singleplayer-training and a hard test for the jets and the helis (espessialy the tv-rockets). The players should´nt be able to fly before they havent fullfilled the requierments (like 20 kills and max. 2-3 death, no suicides etc).

I guess this would help that every fool on a server doesn´t take a jet and crashes while taking off.

Just a thought. Dont flame me

While I'm not going to flame you, this is a terrible idea. How is anybody supposed to get better with something unless they practice? And don't say "single player," because that is nothing like a completely random multiplayer match. Meanwhile, new players will be put off by not being able to use some of the vehicles.

Nice system in your sig, by the way.

Of course your right. It should be possible for everybody to fly a jet or a helo. But I have no patience for some "noobs" taking a jet and crash right after the take off. Also I cant stand guys who take a helo and go for flaghunting or worst case, they take the gunnerseat and aren´t able to use the tv´s. Dont get me wrong, I´m not the uberpilot for shure, but it drives me mad when I´m flying included a good score and then someone unable take the jet or the helo right before my eyes and crashes.

This training I´ve talked about should show them new players how to kill infantry, apc or tanks and of course the basic knowlegdes for flying before they try it on ranked servers.

Practice???  Join an unused server and just fly..  Get a buddy on there and dogfight.....   Join a clan and use a Private server....

I dont fly in-game yet...    Not good at it and I'm a First Sargent..... You dont have to be a newb to be bad at flying.

Funny, how I never hear anybody saying "OMG, don't take the Raptor, you suck too much at flying" when I play UT2004. People stress out too much on BF2.

I guess you are one of the nearly extinguished species and my opinion, if you have realized that you aren´t good enough on flying and dont "steal" the more talented pilots their weapon, this attitude has all my respect.

But most of the players take a jet and earn nothing but deathes, and for this ticketloss, thats what I´m talking about. For my part, I cant understand why everybody wants to take the jet and battlechopper althought there is no experience or skill on this vehicles. For shure, practicing on a unranked server is a good argument, but how often do you see players that take a jet (while you was waiting fot it), they take off and fly straight to death?

I cant stand it, when I´m flying since the begining of a round and after I´ve got shoot down some unskilled guys take the jet when I´m waiting for respawn.

it think its a stupid idea, sounds like the sort of thing a guy would come up with who gets the shits when someone, in his eyes steals his vehicle.

it doesnt matter how good or bad you are its everyones vehicle untill your in the drivers seat.

I´ve never said my jet or something like that. And I dont get the shit about such things. Like I´ve said, it was just a thought because everytime I´m playing I ask myself if would´nt be better for the team if one or two good pilots take the jets. Example? Yesterday I was playing oman and take the SU the whole round, me and my gunner riped the shit out of USMC and OUR team won clearly. Next round was kubra and I was for flaghunting with my squadleader, our pilots sucked worst and I cant remember sawing them do any kills, so OUR team lost because the whole infantry was blown into oblivion by the USMCs F15 and 18

I think something along these lines is a great idea.  How bout this:  EA and gamespy are already tracking stats for just about everything, so why not a global ranking for piloting.  If two players are waiting for a jet or chopper, the aircraft would go to whoever has the greater ranking.  That way the vehicle always goes to the more advanced pilot, but people new to flying would still have a chance to fly every so often and eventually increase their global rank.  BF2 has been doing this exact same thing with the commander role since the inception of this game.

Thumps up, my opinion. Solving this would be difficult but I think this will end the eternal "you fuckface stole my jet" flaming while playing. My suggestion, they should compare the ranks and kd-ratio off the player using this vehicle to manage the ability taking it.

Play a mod or on a clan only server if you want basic training requirements. Otherwise you'd have to apply this idea to every class/kit/vehicle. People paid 50 bucks for a game of late expansions and rushed patches. They should be able to do whatever the hell they want.

Plus it's nice to have rounds with noob enemy pilots in the air. Top Gun dogfighting for 20 minutes gets old after a while.

I dont need basic training, I´m already good enough on jetwhoring. It´s nice to have some noob pilots in the air, for shure, but for my part, it´s more intressting to kill a good pilot than bashing some noobs. Everybody who knows how to fly is easly able to run after a noob pilot. This is boring.

If you want basic training requirements for nubs. Like I said, find a different server. There's a plethora of different kinds in every aspect of the game.

My single player stopped working after patch 1.12, no chance to learn how to fly in singleplayer so.......i'm the noob who keeps chrashing all choppers and jets.

Find a dead server.

If you don't use 'em, you can't learn.

And since when is your one buddy on a near-empty server able to man the Stinger, dogfight you, and present some ground targets for you all at the same time?

HOW ABOUT NOT.

in another topic I wrote:

OK here is my Idea.  If you enter the hanger/Helopad first, you are the only one that can get in the vehicle, if it's 2 seater, then the first 2 are allowed in (or you create an accept/Deny system for the pilot to choose is gunner.  It could work similar to the range on the capture points.  (The first one that enters get 2 points for the capture the rest get 1).  Should be pretty easy to recycle code.  Teamkilling in this situation, should be an automatic kick from the server.

Next make it so that running over someone with a plane, or a helo just knocks them out of the way.  This maneuver does not need to do damage.  Honestly how often do you try to run over someone with an airplane.  Un realistic? yes, but it does solve the problem of the noob standing in front of you.

I don't think you need an actual Queue.  If you are the thrid person to the helopad, you can be first on the next spawn, provided you don't leave the area, if you do, then you need to make sure you are the first back in again.
