Unless your plan on waiting for the AMD Deneb (which no one knows how good it will be), stay away from phenoms.

No, but theyre not worth the money. IIRC there are cheaper dual core Intels that are all around faster

What Intels are they? I might go back and spec an Intel rig.

/offtopic.

In my house there is me and my two brothers, and we all like our computers, my two brothers, Sirschmoopy, and jay_courage, to give them their BF2S names, are opposite ends of the spectrum, one like AMD (Jay) and one like Intel (Schmoop) and they argue about it all the time. Quite funny.

I'm not sad prejudiced.

On, OCUK, an:

E8400
ATi 4850
Asus P5Q
Corsair TX 650W
Samsung 500GB
Corsair 2x2GB DDR2

Is £539.  Probably find it cheaper on ebuyer.

Is it for gaming though?  And, are you running vista?  If so 64bit?

Well I'll probably be doing a bit of gaming (Got an Xbox so not too much).
Music, Movies, College work.
I just want a nice, fast computer that'll do me for a couple of years and I won't have to upgrade. I'm sick fed up of the heap of shite I have the the left of my left leg just now kicks computer like a ginger child

But that seems a pretty decent price, would going Quad be worthwhile at all?

Not a big fan of Vista, but don't wanna be a stick-in-the-mud.

Then you could knock off the PSU, you could go down to 450W just fine.

How much for a decent 450w job?

Looks good.
If you aren't gaming you might not even need the 4GB.
What OS are you planning on running?

Want 4gb so it runs nice and quickly, as I said I'll probably run Vista, although I like XP and amen't too keen on Vista
