Eh? Really? During the crash in South Korea they stayed at home far more to save money. That's why Starcraft/Diablo2/Counterstrike and such took off so wildly there.

Well movies and video games, two industries that are doing quite well in America in spite of the economy are more "plebeian" forms of entertainment. With people not being able to afford vacations or expensive shit like that movies and games are a cheap alternative.
