I need to get an Standard Office 2007 for someone for Christmas, i looked on Scan and Ebuyer and it was around £60/£65 delivered, then i found this website Software4students. As my girlfriend is technically a student we can buy from there but i'm still sceptical due to the price it is, nearly £30 cheaper than i'd previousley found.

Would it just be an OEM version as it states something about a CD mailer(?), so i'm presuming we'd get no box etc...?

In Austria we (students) can buy Office or Xp/Vista for 5-10 €. There are bunch of other programs too that have student discount.
They are sold in university libraries and you need a valid student identification.

Your GF should ask at her university.

i'm always skeptical of download sites offering "discounted" software.  buyer beware

"acquiring" office and burning it to a disc might be the better option, it's not like you play multiplayer office.

Probably the difference in price is due to the licence you are buying. It may well be the exact same product you get from the other places, but the licence is only for use as a student. Or it might not have all the different components. I have Office "Student and Teacher Edition 2003" whichh contains Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point (but no Access). O don't know if the EULA is dofferent since I only have this version, but I would suggest it would be against the EULA for me to use it if I was not a student.

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

As does mine.

Quite a lot of Google hits, a 128-bit encryption on the checkout ... it would seem safe, although Zim knows a bit more on this subject than me - talk to him.

GTFO. Open office is a motherfucking monstrosity, it looks awful, it's sluggish and slow, and the interface is disgusting and confusing to use.

And when you compare open office to office 07, office 07 wins hands down. Sorry Open Source fags, but you lose on the office front.
