Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse Explorer 2.0 started being dead sticky and unresponsive so I thought "Great, gonna have to spend a fiver on batteries". Replaced batteries, still sticking and be unresponsive.

Yeah, you need the receiver fairly close to the mouse tbh, with my old shitty wireless one it messed up if it got more than like 30cm away from the receiver

Have you tired a different USB Port, check the USB cable is in properly? (I am talking about the wireless mouse reciever before you flame)
