Yeah, PSN online for me tends to lag more than XBL or my PC connection, but nowhere near as bad as LBP is. With LBP, it's almost unplayable at times.

tbh I wouldn't care if you offered me 360 over PS3 and vice versa as long as I get to play something,playing is practically the same.PS3 is more expensive because of fullHD resolution output and blu-ray player.I'd go for PS3 if you wanna watch movies because quality is amazing if you have FullHD TV and more and more movies come on blu-ray.
If you're in it just for the games I'd go with 360 because it's cheaper.

hmm maybe if I get enough giftcards etc. for Christmas and all I'll get one. I at least want to be able to read the storyline for MSG 1-3 and play MSG 4 but Blu Ray is a key factor.

My opinion on the backwards compatibility: For the dogs. It drives the price up on an edition of the PS3 with otherwise inferior hardware. The new ones won't play PS2 titles, but they run more efficiently with a smaller process. $400 for PS3 and $40 for pawn shop PS2 or $800 for slightly slower PS3 that plays PS2 titles? Your choice. I know I didn't get a Super Nintendo to play Duck Hunt.

^ Where have you been looking for PS3's? The backwards compatible ones I've seen have been around $400, not $800.

Also, do you have any sources for the statement about the newer models of PS3 being faster? I'm just curious, because that's something I'm definitely interested in, and has an impact on whether or not I get the backwards compatible version or not.

Why does a PS3 still cost double an xbox 360? has anyone noticed this? well I guess it makes sense, blu ray for 200, and ps3 for 200.
