Remote Desktop comes pre-installed.

What features, other than the ability to use a desktop remotely, do you want in a remote desktop?

CrazeD wrote:

Never found Remote Desktop at all hard to use.

CrazeD wrote:

Maybe.

CrazeD wrote:

Comes pre-installed if you buy the more expensive version of Windows.

By features, I mean stuff like transfer files and such, IIRC RDC can't transfer files. Some VNC's you can even drag files right between PC's, and copy files via clipboard. Some you can even set up your PC as if you had one PC with dual monitors.

By easier to use, I mean easier to setup and configure. RDC isn't really that complicated, no. For example, I use TightVNC to access my second PC at my house. I don't like having two bigass CRT's and two keyboard/mice on my desk, so I just use a VNC when I need to access the other PC. On the other PC I have TightVNC installed, but on mine I have just a single executable to connect - very simple.

I've always found RDC to be sluggish and laggy, whereas other Free VNC's I've tried are very smooth.

Personal preference really, but it most definitely isn't a turning point as to which Windows version I buy.

Well, all versions come with the server part.

Yeah, I think it's mostly a preference thing.

There are other ways to do things like sharing files between two PCs, and well, I just like to have as little software installed as possible.

I very much prefer RDC/P, it comes preinstalled on 90% of computers,
"Well why not just keep it on a flash drive"
Because I don't carry a flash drive around with me.

"It's only on the more expensive versions"
I've yet to have to connect to my house from someone elses house with only Xp Home or Vista Basic.

Lol, pretty much all of the people I know are too un-smart to run any form of linux, and even if they did, I have my Mac with RDC installed with me 90% of the time

You can't play Marbleblast and Nanosaur take notes in class with a flash drive.
And My house is far away from school so I end up taking it to friends' houses.

VNC performs like shit on vista. RDC works much better
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
