Working about half a hour ago, my screen suddently went a lot darker then normally.

This is on my laptop, and I'm running Vista Home Premium 32-bit.

How can I make it brighter?

It has probably changed to a power saving mode, restricting the brightness of the screen thus extending battery life.

It was, apparently not connected to the power supply, ran low of power.
I then plugged in the power supply, now it's almost full power.

if you have a manufacturers battery management thing, try changing the profiles on that

or reboot it

or check brightness settings

or use the laptops function keys to change the brightness (fn + a key that looks like a sun w/an up or down arrow, press up)
