ok man, i think the first thing you need to do is decide if you want little satellite speakers, or actual full size REAL speakers. you could go and buy the drivers in those little speakers for $3 a pop. shit, the drivers for the crappy bose satellites are $7...

anyway, my point is, decide if you want real sound, or sorta surround sound.

to really do surround sound right, you need some fucking $$$$ dude.

if you want my advice...the way you keep jumping back and forth, i would just go get that receiver and that set of klipsch bookshelf speakers...they have 5.25 in woofers in them anyway, so you can save up for the sub....and then save up for a center, and then save up for some rears...and then some sides...you see where im going with this.

if not, go get a crappy htib and call it a day.

I'm getting these. Klipsch are awesome by reputation, I'm hoping they sound as good as everyone says they will.
they will.
those are almost exactly like my towers, and they are the sex.
the only thing that i think they could do better is their subs, but im spoiled from my supercube
i promise, you will not be disappointed.

Any suggestions?

I'd go with the reciever you posted originally, but I'm VERY wary of those speakers...any others you'd suggest?
Whenever you have misgivings about audio equipment, go here: ecoustics.com. They've got a monster listing of every audio equipment manufacturer there is. So check the manufacturer in question with that site. If it's not on there, it's not legit. I go there all the time to find brands that are very good, but mostly unknown. Tons of reviews and lots of good articles to read up on.

Onkyo Makes pretty good stuff, there may be a couple of htib by harmon kardon or denon  http://www.amazon.com/Denon-DHT-488BA-T … B000X3S6IC  that may be worth a look.  Klipsch make very nice speakers, some people think the horn tweeters can sound a little harsh though.  Paradigm monitor or even cinema series are pretty nice.  I have the reference line and they are outstanding.  But in the end a HTIB is going to compromise on either the speakers, the receiver or both.
