I dont care at all for Christmas. My entire family comes here for like a week every year (Me and my sister never have a say, its always dads decision) and i have to give up my room and sleep on the couch or a sleeping bag. One time i could not go get dressed till 2pm cuz my grandma was asleep and my dad did not want me to wake her up...and i wanted to go out with my friends. No one gets along and i have to listen to them fight all the goddamn time even during Christmas day when we open the presents. Jord's description of it is pretty accurate too.

And i never really want anything except a few things for my truck, which are $500+ and no one would buy them for me so im stuck with getting clothes and board games from my grandparents and books about the most boring environmental things from my hippie aunt.

this.

and tbh, my ex in-laws kicked my ass when it comes to the holidays...

this is the first time i have been single for the holidays since my divorce. but im gonna do a year without a relationship, so its all good...just weird i guess.

anyway, i kind of hate the holidays now. cant really stand the christmas music, the shopping, the crowds..ill be working on both christmas eve and day, so theres no time off to look forward to.
about the only thing i like about it is the snow and the lights people put up...the good lights, not the motherfuckers that try to land cessnas in their yards.

Working on New Years eve really isn't a biggie, unless you finish at like 1am or something. Come on now, most people finish at 5/6pm. Unless you're one of those berks that like doing "super huge" stuff on "super huge" occasions like New Years () and you need to be in some 5 star hotel on some Caribbean Island or some fancy big city somewhere in the world *looks at sister* then it doesn't really matter.

Christmas stopped being 'amazing' a long time ago, but it's still nice to have an excuse to get off school and work to meet with your non-local family.

I could not give a damn about presents this year, bigger things going on.

I still enjoy Christmas, but I don't know why. It's not the superficial reasons anymore, either (I can't say I want "toys" anymore). The past two years I didn't even ask my parents for anything. I just enjoy the weather, the music (at reasonable amounts, not for 2 months prior; it's also best in church), and seeing people again.

Well get some good food and drinks, but that it. Presents are to expensive to wish for consider the ones I want are a bit over the price of usual stuff. Then the family is big and money problem too.

The weather is shit too, no fucking snow. I do meet my family once a month or so or more. Its fun when you are a kid and can wish for stuff but when the family splits up it become a bit tiresome to drive around to their house.

I probably would finish at round about 1am if I was working.  It just depresses me so much when I'm working and me mates are out getting shitfaced.

Just buy gift cards for everyone. That way, they get what they want.

I have been for years as well.

A few years back, a few friends and I were making White Russians, driving around and calling people about 3 in the morning christmas eve/day asking out of line questions and intentionally pissing them off.

One of the best questions to ask someone after waking them up with your phone call is:

"Hello?  hey buddy, Remember 'Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure'?  What ever happened to Bill?  have you ever seen him in anythings since?"

With a reasonable response of

"WHOEVER THE FUCK THIS IS, IT'S THREE IN THE FUCKING MORNING!  I DON'T GIVE A SHIT.  FUCK OFF!"

Call them back. ask again.

That was a good time, ruining people's xmas eve 'n shit.

Spending time with your family, some people don't get to see their family much and I love that about Christmas. The presents never really appealed to me, I haven't asked for anything this year because I don't need anything. This year I will be spending my break with my girlfriend and that's all I need

Christmas is pretty fun here. I don't care about the presents (we just simply say what we like and someone picks something out of that list) the thing I like are the big parties we always have over at the German side of the family. always the whole family (grandpa's, ma's, cousins, aunts, etc etc) together. and playing Santa for the little ones (well not me, I am not fat enough).
I'm just going to second this. I was indifferent for awhile. I've learned to appreciate the family time and hanging out with friends that visit during the holidays. Everyone seems to be in a better mood also.. the ones that aren't busting their asses trying to buy gifts they can't afford at least.

I love Christmas time. I went to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert last friday, I usually go over my cousin's house for Christmas day (they were raised Christian), and I've been to Disney World during Christmas time. I love it. It's a great feeling and a great time of the year.

This year we're going down to Florida to escape the shitty weather...leaving saturday.

Man, I'm on my uni break rite (until march). Got a job recently... at a department store I shall not name. I'm in the toys department. I swear, some day I'll crack and kill some kid or their parent.   But srsly, the music, the crowds.. over it.

I guess my indifference to Christmas can be summed up by the fact that I didn't know how long it was to christmas (exactly)/what day its on until just last week.
