Well me and a few mates had booked to go away in Feb for a week of snowboarding in Bulgaria, but now i have found i cannot go because of family things, i had put down a £100 deposit, so i was wondering will i be able to get it back? I tried to call them but they were closed for the day.
When you booked it, did they tell you it was a non-refundable deposit? If so, you're not getting it back
It's a deposit for a reason, no money for you I'm afraid.
Did you get cancellation insurance?

Say to the person they could pay you later, or whatever.

Yep if you have paid you ain't getting it back.
Deposits can be both refundable and non-refundable ... the refundable ones requires you to cancel your booking before a certain date and those are often the expensive deposits ... the non-refundable are often cheaper and is supposed to cover the xtra work for the resort to cancel and rearrange the booking.
Call them again to make sure ... £100 sounds like it's refundable ...
