the HAF doesn't look awful, but it certainly isn't very pretty. it looks like a beast of a case just for airflow and cable management and for that reason i would get it.Bell wrote:

I have seen that case before on fudzilla, it's always on the left hand side as an advert. Now that I look at it though, it's a bit, well, busy!

If you run a PC with 4 GPUs you're better off placing an exhaust fan right on the GPUs and leaving the side panel off

how are they useless? i know that in my case 4 hard drives conveniently block/prewarm the cool air to my GPU coming from the front of the case. a side fan (a bit lower than what is cut out on the 900) would be perfect for me i think. 31 idle though, not complaining...yet

A HDD dumps ~10W when loaded, way less than idle. It won't affect your other temps.haffeysucks wrote:

The design that gives you the best airflow over all components is still an airtight case with a 120mm exhaust. The CPU heatsink blows towards it. The only intake is infront of the HDD. All other holes should be blocked off. High end GPUs will dump a majority of the heat outside the case. Mid/low end GPUs don't need much airflow. If the PSU is in a separate compartment a top blowhole is also helpful.
Side panel fans disrupt the clean front to back airflow, thus increasing temps and noise. A decent exhaust fan + PSU will do at least 160m³/h. A dual slot GPU will even add to that. Way sufficient for pretty much any usage scenario

you forgot one thing: most aftermarket GPU cooling dumps that hot air back into the case...max wrote:

i get the point about the front to back airflow though. perhaps a PCI slot fan would help if someone has stale air in the bottom rear of the case.

Even with an aftermarket cooler the front to back airflow is still superior. What you can do is remove the PCI bracket and going for massive positive pressure. The problem with intake side panel fans is that they create massive turbulence. Not good for performance or noise

Unless you're dealing with some severely hot components, a single 120mm exhaust is all you need. Also, blocking off side/top vents is often a good idea. Front->Back airflow is ftw. I have the top vent blocked off in my P182...

I am getting the Coolermaster 932 HAF
My Uncle has just bought one and it runs extremely cool and silent, it can also house 10 x 120mm fans!
The cable management and tool less design is brilliant, I would highly recommend it.

I wouldn't spend £130 + on Noctuas anyway
I would just put one next to the power supply on the bottom of the case.
i read it as 120mm fans with a depth of 10mm lol.Jenspm wrote:

Bah!... I've got the thermaltake Armor with 25cm side fan, did a temp test with the side fan on and off the other day, cpu was 2 degrees warmer and gpu only 1 degree cooler.... with the side fan on. open case is cooler.haffeysucks wrote:
