[edit]Title resubmission [Newegg] = Quasi-fail...Q4/08[/edit]

In the past, I have received excellent service from these guys. I've used card and check.

Now, it's mind-bogglingly irritating. For some reason, they can't process my card (three straight 'failed authorizations,' though I've bought power tools from Lowe's and stacks of movies from Amazon with it), and despite a history of checks to Newegg, they've been rejecting them.

Thank you for your interest in shopping with Newegg.com. This email is to inform you that we have received your payment for your order # SO#x/y. Unfortunately, we have not been able to confirm the funds for your check because the initial deposit verification has failed.
October. Then I get a check written out for both those numbers in late November, which arrives in the mail in December.

What the hell?

So I'm waiting on order z, and it's still listed as 'submitted.' In November, they even mistakenly given me a tracking number for it, which cost me another couple of weeks of wasted time. How do you give someone a tracking number for an order that hasn't even been shipped yet?!

Previous orders have been erased from my Newegg history, but they can't erase them from my inbox. Newegg's 'legendary customer service' indeed...I've been back and forth with these guys for awhile now, and still have to go through their automated e-mail service. I hate to get on the phone with people for stuff like this because it inevitably pisses me off (and probably supercharges my blood-pressure), but tomorrow looks like that day. And before then, I've gotta go through my stack of e-mail and round up every bit of stuff from these guys because they saw fit to strike it from the record. Not only that, but they now want me to dig up the tracking number for the check itself. Think they could've requested that earlier?

And I'm sick of dealing with Nicki Li's automated responses.

Meh, you live in the US. Cant you sue them or something?
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Same.

I've had one RMA with them, which was only because I didn't like the item (Scythe Ninja - possibly the worst cooler ever made) and they gave me a full refund quickly and painlessly.

I absolutely love Newegg, they are

Newegg is one day behind on processing orders right now, but it's to be expected as it is the holidays. Other than that, they're still giving me the service I've come to expect - top notch.

Placed an order on Friday, and it's due to arrive tomorrow.

I've heard that they've switched to DHL lately, which doesn't matter, since DHL is going under.  I got a 100 pack of DVD-Rs and a 1TB Samsung Spinpoint from them yesterday so I have no complaints.

UPS bought DHL. The regular guaranteed 3 day is UPS, but the 1-6 day is DHL. Just FYI.

Newegg ships items separately and from different locations. It should be there tomorrow.

@ above posts: glad you've had luck with the egg. I've ran out. As to phone calls, they had no idea what was going on, and couldn't help me. I wish I could transfer your recent happy experiences to my past, but that's impossible.

'One day behind' shouldn't matter on several week-old-orders.

Newegg just lost my second order attempt. And by lost, I mean erased and unmentioned. No call, no e-mail, nothing. Like last time, no record that it even existed other than a string of e-mailed confirmations. Even after a few weeks of customer support contact. Neweggfail continues. I don't know what's going on with those guys, I've been ordering from them with no problems for the past few years, but I guess that's over.

At the post above this one, failservice = fail. I can see once, but twice? And if their punctuality is to be noted, I'll expect a return check sometime in late January or early February.

Again, already tried the above (of no help), but it seems to work this way: you sent an e-mail and get an automated confirmation. Then, depending on what you've asked, you get either an automated or custom response a little bit later (usually within the day).

I'll give them a shot next summer on a small item, but I can't be assed to beat around the bush for another month for office equipment.

That'd cost more in time and money than an office full of laptops. Instead, I get to complain about it to friends and complete strangers, though I've the feeling that if negative karma was still in the works, I'd lose about 250 points for daring to question 'the Egg.'

A week after I told them to cancel the last order, it went through. Since I was thinking about getting another one anyway, and an extra UPS was in the order, I won't chew them out. Nice response time though...not. On the plus side, it looks like they finally got some of their shit together, and I'll be able to once again order discounted parts with mail-in rebates. Unfortunately, I think I deserved a bit of an extra discount for all the shit I went through, or at least a bit off the (now cheaper) laptop.

Don't think twice.

Newegg is amazing, I dunno what this guys problem was. The fact that he never called them and then bitched about their customer service says a little.

Fixed.

I'd have to agree on your first sentence. Up until the quarter in the topic's title, Newegg has been amazing for me, with reasonable pricing, fast shipping and good service, and yes: I don't know what the problem was with the last two orders. E-mails and phone calls, the former being of little to no help (We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you), yielded no results, and it was only about a week after I requested that they cancel the order (that had already mysteriously vanished from my Newegg account record at any rate) that they sent an e-mail invoice with shipping information.

Repeating the above post, I'm not going to complain too much, because the laptop in question is only about $200 less now than when I had originally ordered it and I'm going to keep it for personal use, but this does not placate the fact that I had ordered it for a business that harried me regularly for progress on said order. I'm sorry if I can't fall in line with the people who've had 100% satisfaction from the site, but I've got to say it's not without its faults...no matter how many flames I get for it.

Arrived so far: One out of 'five' tracking numbers - Uninterruptible Power Supply (a little beaten and smudged on the packaging, obviously hefted by the straps more than eagerly, but anything that a 70lb package might've bumped into probably fared worse; setting it up right now to see if it still works).
Pending: three out of 'five' tracking numbers sitting in Fife, WA.
Unknown: They sent me two e-mails. One with five tracking numbers, followed by one with four. Perhaps they combined a couple...I'll just wait to see what comes of it.

After some searching on the net, I found out that I'm far from the only, or even rare case. I'm just glad I'm not one of the ones who've gotten used and refurbished gear in the guise of retail.

They're still priced well, so give it a shot...but if they ass around with it, don't keep trying out of any sense of loyalty or penny-pinching. I finally ordered the business laptop from B&H Photo for a few dollars more, and it was processed so soon that it arrived within about two days...during Christmas season.

And now you're blaming Newegg for the shipping. Good, good. Why not blame them for DOA parts as well, eh?

And the rabid defense continues. I'm blaming them for rejecting two perfectly acceptable cards in September and somehow losing 'checks' sent to their provided address over the course of the next couple months. The first one they claimed was missing, so I canceled the order and sent out a check for the other. A couple weeks ago, in December, I got a refund check from Newegg dated in late November from that first [check] October order. The second check was next-day mailed the very hour after I placed the second order, but the delay was just as obscene.

If I didn't know better, I'd think their mail room was operated by ox-cart. Again, I don't know what happened. First three quarters of the year, I'm merrily throwing card and check orders their way, and now this. No matter how angry you get or whose fault it was at their end, their service record for me no longer has that certain mirror polish. I don't think they deserve to be completely rejected out of hand, but it's going to be awhile before I throw all my business-end eggs into their basket.

As to your last statement, if original box packaging beneath sterile shipping packaging looks like it was crushed between the butt-cheeks of a troll, why not? Haven't dealt with that particular one yet, though.

Because it has nothing to do with Newegg, and everything to do with the shipping courier. It is a known fact that UPS plays keep-away with their boxes, I've never ever received a package from UPS that wasn't crushed or damaged in some way.

About the credit cards, take it up with whoever your credit card is issued from, to find out why it was rejected. Newegg doesn't randomly reject cards at will.

I'm not rapidly defensive, I just don't like seeing such an awesome company get belittled from ignorance.
