Question regarding overheating

Might be an incredibly stupid question, but here goes:
Would leaving my computer case open and using a fan to blow air inside help cool it down at all?

I'm trying to play Mass Effect, but after 5 minutes my gfx card sounds like a jet engine and the game crashes.

Yes, that does help. I did that with my old computer when heating became an issue.

if u keep ur case open and running, your shit might get fucked up

Take ur card out, gently, and clean the dust and shit out of it with a scuba tank (like me) or a compessed air can you can buy at an electronics store (like regular people)

That should make it drop temps

You do not want to open it up and blow air in, that is such a bad idea.

The fans are meant to circulate air in and out of your case and when you just open up and start blowing air on all your intricate parts then you are going to get dust throughout your case and you only need a little bit of dust in one of your connectors for it to give out on you.
