The military provides jobs buddy...
Yeah to any one looking?
So for all you guy in the military, you'd support anyone and everyone that you were in service with? Or are they're some that you don't think should have been in the military?

so you think that dropping money over manhattan from a helicopter is a better idea than the military
I think rebuilding our infrastructure and providing citizens with health care is a better idea then the military.. Also start programs to rebuild production based jobs and make sure that there are jobs for people to come back to and jobs that people can live off.
More money into education is a good start.. I'm not saying that there isn't a need for the military, I'm saying we don't need as much money spent on the military

yeah I can tell that further education helped alot.. A "personal" attack really proves my point..
I've noticed that all the people who've served can't seem to take a difference in opinion which really actually strengthens the points that I"ve brought up..

You pretty much said that anyone that was in the military was looking for a hand out.
So.....

Naa I belive I asked why should we support our troops and then pointed out that it's a job like any other.
That you've signed up for it, and why shouldn't it be based on merit like any other job. If we as a country need to cut Budget why shouldn't it be the armed forces that takes a hit? I've never made any personal attacks on any of you, but you read into it as such.. Why should I not question where MY MONEY is going to in the armed forces?

I'm sick of it and really getting sick of these right wing people who are part of the military and want to keep bankrupting our country to fight an imaginary enemy.. Oh no, you're not going to be able to support your family of four on one income if you're husband doesn't have government housing and food anymore, you might have to get a job to support your baby making.. Well welcome to the real world.
So bottom line is troops, you've been paid for your service and as all other thankless jobs out there, suck it up, you don't deserve anything else..
Not yet.. But I'm sure if one of the real "Threats" come up I'm sure to be.. Also what's the difference between drafting or being forced into service because it's the only place right now you can earn a living?
I'm sure that a good portion of people are joining the armed forces because of income/lack of jobs issues?

this idiot thinks that if nobody volunteered to be used car salesmen or a auto mechanic that you would be drafted to do it.
well lets look back to people who joined in the late 90's. if they hadnt volunteered, you would have been drafted in 2001 (assuming you were old enough).cpt.fass1 wrote:

So, cut the military budget, less money for serving soldiers, less jobs available in the military for those who want and need it and probably affecting the civil sector working with and suppling the military. That's not exactly what a financially troubled nation needs.cpt.fass1 wrote:

You insult pretty much everyone who has worn a uniform and you expect not to get flamed?
At least Ramm doesn't try and hide the fact that he is a blatant hate monger, your are trying to camouflage it. Were you turned down buy the recruiter?
and who the fuck do you think is doing covert ops around the world trying to keep us safe? i mean, it could be the sandwich artist team at the subway i went to today, but thats unlikely.
Dudes don't let this get closed.
Oh yeah what's with the random cunts from shitty Eastern European countries spamming this thread!
Why an earth would people who risked their lives for their country go back and do a military coup? Sure times are going to get a bit tough due to the worldwide recession but people always make it through somehow.
I can't believe you actually have written that the majority of them are crybabies. Do you know how little armed forces are compensated for their trouble?
War does horrible things to people you have no i-fuckin-dea.
Why are you blaming the armed forces for the shit policies they have signed up with the best intentions and have stayed to fight beside their comrades.
I can see you becoming very unpopular on this forum.
Oh wait have you been watching the movie The Rock or something the one with Nicolas Cage and Sean Connery.
On top of that those who have served on this forum are going to be seething in anger and so they should be. Why should they respond with essay style posts when none of your's have been with their errors.

wait, you are putting the blame of the economic crisis on the armed forces?
first I thought you were just being a dick, but you're fucking stupid to add on to that.
AND JUST WHEN I THOUGHT YOU HIT ROCK BOTTOM

Kmarion had a sig some time ago.
"The troops don't make the policy", or something along the lines of that.
That's why.

Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.
You are also forgetting the armed forces helps some young men with no direction in life onto the straight and narrow. Many might of turned to crime or not achieved their full economic and social potential. Now you can tell me how that affects the H.D.I rating.

What would have happened if the US & allies hadn't gone into Afghanistan? Inaction would have been taken as encouragement by certain factions, thats what.
In war, soldiers have to do things which most of us will never have to do. They have to experience a multitude of horrors, and many are never the same for it. Even if you don't agree with what they do, give them a break.
