Right-o.
So I got another gfx card from my brother's comp for me: a BFG 9800GT. My current rig has a 7950GT, which I've overclocked. Apparently the 9800 comes factory-OCd. Whatevs, I won't touch it for now. My question is, now that I've got that little bridge thingy on them (ASUS M2N32-SLI mobo), how do I set 'em up to run in SLI? I do have the latest drivers, too.
Thanks.
I like pie.

You have to wait for SLi 2.0 that Nvidia is developing, I doubt it will be backwards compatible though...

In 2.0 you will be able to run SLi with different cards, but now both cards have to be the same to run SLi

Could be a rumor but I think I remember reading it from a trustworthy source...

Probably due to different architectures and the drivers for each different generation are different, let alone the fact one card is dx10 and one is dx9

It's not worth to SLi any DX9 card tbh... SLi scaling sucked those days...

Sell the 9800 and SLI two 7950's.

Like I said, not as .

But cheaper.

If I could find a comparable benchmarks for the two specific cards, I'd comment more specifically on the cost to ness ratio, but I can't (and tbh, cba), so won't.

I know what you meant, but I'm jus thinking theres no point, he should just save up and get another 9800gt, there's no point downgrading.

9800GTX 512MB: 2982.70
8800GTS 512MB: 2940.10

Can't find 9800GT.

Yeah, that's as far as I got - Tom's, can't find 9800GT, meh. They can't be that shit (to score less than 1684.80), can they? But I'm not a stats nerd, so they could be.

The only other card you can SLi w/ a 9800GT is an 8800GT, since they are practically the same card.  Otherwise, the card has to be the same.
