Indeed...going and recapping a flag would be smart, not fair for your teammates to sit and watch you do nothing...kick sounds fair enough to me.
Surely admin decision is fair anyway, you played on their server free of charge, they pay alot for a 64 player ranked server, then you camp in a glitch all round and dont help your team, hence ruining gameplay.....
Personally id have just kicked you and your 4 friends, but if u did it every round, yes i would ban you.

its just unfortunately that 12 year old twits make these rules so they can circumvent the system and prove their "l337ness"Acme1234 wrote:
What are your thoughts on being banned from a server for staying alive after a cap out, and fighting on from a safe position with a squad? If the enemy team isn't smart enough to work together to get at you and your squad, is it just reward to receive a ban for it?
It sucks for the rest of your team who has to wait, and for the enemy who has to keep dying, but is it ban worthy?
I'm a paying customer of this ISP, so it's my money that's paying for me to play on their ranked server. And it's not something we do every single round, but just here and there when a cap out is going to happen.twoblacklines wrote:

Ok fair enough you're a donator to the server, but what purpose does hiding up on the crane serve? You're just prolonging the agony (of your team mates that is) and not actively trying to cap a flag to get the game going again?Acme1234 wrote:

A ban is harsh, a kick is appropriate.
That's all I'm saying. A kick is fine, but a two week ban because one person couldn't hack it is a bit harsh.Slarty wrote:

Besides, its a pub server, and there is no golden rule stating I have to cap or defend flags.
sigh*
Regardless of it being unfair, how did a squad of 3/4 AFO pros get capped out by rands?
If an admin was on you probably would have only got a kick.Acme1234 wrote:

No he's not. His ISP just happens to host the servers.Slarty wrote:

Two admins were on the other team, trying to fight us, and had no problem with us being up there.DrunkFace wrote:

When I was admin, I used to solve that sort of thing by forcing a teamswitch on the person via bf2cc. The server switches them back, just dead, the person doesn't get another death because it's a server thing, and everyone's happy.
And if I'm not in the server/don't have [bf2s], no one knows.

I smell internode all over this shit.Acme1234 wrote:

Ban because you were shit and got capped out even with a squad.
Question is, the ISP who has given out a 2 week ban for this is claiming that if you remain alive after a cap out, and don't attempt to retake a flag, it is considered "disruptive play".
Basically their saying you have to try and move out when your pinned by the entire enemy team and attempt to take back a flag. Now this is close too impossible when your surrounded by 16-32 enemy players with their guns trained on you waiting for you to poke your head out.
Have you ever played a ladder match, and being alive after a cap out, and locked down from a good position to bleed those last 5-10 tickets to win the game?
It's a logical tactic, but just because some people get pissed off by it, you can get banned for it.
Go figure.
well,
you were cornered and you were right to take cover and defend yourself.
I have seen people in that spot and have taken them down.
they could have gone AT, going to the nearest roof, and start shelling your team, theres no way you can be revived from an AT missile. Even that they couldnt give u a direct hit, splash damage does the job.
A squad of snipers could have done the job too.
But if the other team was full of wussy medics, of course they were never gonna take you down, they will never suicide to spawn as AT (my precious fag kdr !!!) until they cried to an admin.

Why are you so pms when it comes to medics or any other person who isn't in a tank or AT? Not everyone plays the game the exact way is you. You have to realize that they bought the game. You didn't buy it for them. Unless you are ready to pony up 50 dollars for each person on your team, no one should listen to a word you say.Sgt. Sergio Bennet 3rd wrote:

yeah, nahh. You'll never see any precious KDR medic fags suicide to achieve something.killer21 wrote:

Kick = appropriate
Ban = Overkill
Admins shouldn't have had to do anything anyway - if you really were being disruptive, you would have been vote-kicked.
I guess a ban-happy admin reviewed the TMR.

I actually got successfully kickvoted for the first time ever (and it was the first successful kickvote i've ever seen too ) a couple of days agoCheez wrote:

Although to be fair, my "Enemy Boat Spotted" macro (spots an enemy boat once every second, for ever) probably was a tad annoying
(srsly, enemy boat spam is teh best)
