Tips on new PC

I am considering getting a new computer as the one I have now is nearing the end of its life. I need to save up the money first, so I won't be buying anything until February at the earliest. Budget is around $800, looking to play GTA IV on higher than decent settings, along with Far Cry 2 and Fallout 3

Current Specs:

Nvidia 7900GT/GTO 256MB PCI Express

Asus A8N SLI-Premium (Socket 939)

Corsair XMS 2 GB

2x 74 GB Raptors in RAID 0
-2x 500GB WD for storage

Considering:

Motherboard:
Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P P45

RAM:
OCZ Reaper HPC 4GB DDR2 1066

Video Card:
Asus HD 4870 1GB

CPU:
Intel Q6600

PSU:
Corsair CMPSU-750TX 750W

nice new computer. you can forget about GTA4 though. that game doesn't run well for...well, anybody. FC2 and Fallout 3 will be maxed out (assuming you play at 1680x1050, because I can max them out on my monitor).

Looks good, I have that CPU, PSU, and RAM... that psu is rock solid too man.

To play this on highest setting you need graphics of 10GB +

That said i can run it rather well on my 1440 x 900 at auto settings at 40 fps, with 8800 GTS. and quad.

I'm running GTA4 at everything maxed. It's only at 1440x900 though (19").

I'm sure his pc would do it fine at that res.

edit: I've just realised that the weird graphics setup thing didn't let me put one of the sliders all the way to the end. With the 'resource' use thing, which was wrong because I'm never at full usage in the game anyway. Psssh.

For his price range though.... mabye just throw a good cpu cooler on and overclock it.

Yeah I don't feel like paying the extra $200 for a few more MHz, I'll overclock it a ton. Also, suggestions on a good, cheap-ish cooler?

Although i couldnt get my hand on one here... so i got a OCZ Vendetta 2 CPU cooler.... which works great... keeps my e8400 (overclocked to 4.05GHz) nice and cool.
