Bit of a Rik Mayall fan eh?       I'm simply amazed someone else has heard of Bottom.

There are so many great comedies but i'll just list off a short section of what i have...

Starting with the UK...
New-ish:
The Mighty Boosh - Absolutely hilarious regardless of which series and i'm fairly sure most people here would agree.
Snuff Box - Very strange comedy show. You'd have to like Matt Berry's style, which certainly isn't for everyone.
Garth Marenghi's Darkplace - A massive spoof of low budget 80's tv. Strange doesn't even come close to summing this up.
Black Books - Dylan Moran being Dylan Moran. I'm yet to meet anyone who doesn't find this show funny.
Spaced - Short comedy series by Simon Pegg, creator of Shaun of the Dead. Very Witty.

Old-ish:
Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy Mini-Series - Some of the finest british humour I've ever heard.
Chef! - An early show by Lenny Henry. Most certainly the best comedy piece he's ever produced.
Anything related to Monty Python - Do i really need to explain?

Outside the UK:
Double the Fist - Incredibly cheap program with awful special effects, woeful story lines (if at all) and bad reality tv sections. Possibly the funniest program produced in Oz for quite some time. Might be difficult to get in Canada
Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law - Awesome program produced using Hannah-Barbera characters.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia - A comedy program created in the US that's not animated and is actually funny. A rarity indeed.
Arrested Development - Another rare US gem. Comedy show with a continuing storyline that keeps you laughing throughout.
Anything by John Clarke - I personally find his work riotous. However that might just be because i'm Australian.

Something pretty new and hilariously awesome is the IT Crowd.

Also, I agree with the guy above. The Mighty Boosh is fucking awesome. I was lucky enough to see them Live in November and it was just pure awesome. Everything about it. From the dancing lessons to when the 30 foot eel appeared on stage.

Some good humour in them there series

Well since you live in Canada: Kenny vs. Spenny. Absolutely hilarious.

Others I might mention:
Arrested Development (one of my favorite shows ever and probably the funniest show of all time)
Extras (amazingly funny show from the UK by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant)
Chappelle's Show (not as funny as the others I mentioned, but worth watching at least once or twice)
Reno 911! (same as Chappelle's Show)

And preferably all in one sitting

Seriously, though, I've found that show is most enjoyable when watching 3 or 4 episodes at a time. Over the summer I finished the entire series in a week or two.
