Whenever I play Divx .avi files....

...The sound keeps on sometimes getting out of sync with the video. I know it's not the file, as it's happened multiple times with different files. So it's obviously something wrong on my end.

Is this a known problem, and how do I fix it?

This used to happen with some porn I downloaded. Think it was cos I kept skipping (to the good parts)

Never sorted it. Just learnt to not care so much about the sound tbh

happened to me sometimes, so i stopped using Dvix player and used VLc.
it works with almost any format so its awesome.

Videos played back in VLC have degraded quality. Also VLC has problems with large files

MPC + ffdshow is ideal for divx content.

Does MPClassic offer the best playback quality out of all media players? And is it noticably different on a PC screen compared with VLC, or only when you're blowing it up to TV sized stuff?

Yes, it looks best. I can notice a difference of quality on my tiny 15'' screen between MPC and VLC. Then again if you play 700MB rips no player will make them look good once you know the awesomeness of HD.

hmm, interesting. VLC is a bit annoying for me with the damn artifacts.
