The hard drive
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

You want a receiver with a high RMS output, that site only gives the peak wattage.  Although if your car still has the stock speakers, it doesn't matter much.  The best bang for the buck upgrade you can do is installing aftermarket speakers.  Even cheap speakers are better than the paper garbage already in your car.

What exactly are you needing a radio to do? You want to play CD's? You want to play compressed music? You want to plug in USB sticks? You want to plug in an Ipod? Do you like superior audio quality?

You tell me what you want and i'll advise what i think is the best you can get, and whats your budget?

And in all honesty, don't touch Sony or Panasonic. Sony has a really bad preset EQ set-up, no amount of adjustments via audio settins will change it either. And as for Panasonic, just don't. Alpine is your best bet, perhaps even Pioneer depending on which model you choose. Kenwood is as bad as Sony also.

I will add, if you are into superior audio quality then look further into 'Imprint' from Alpine. Well priced, perhaps even too cheap for what the end product gives you.

Well... I just need a good radio... when i say good is that it will play my cd's, and will have good options if i want to put subs and new speakers after....

I don't know bro, go at futureshop.ca and take a look.....  For now, it's between the 2 radio in the main post...

They're fairly similiar. the sony has USB input and ipod control, panasonic doesn't.  Panasonic has a better CD S/N ratio.  same preamp voltage, same preamp outputs.

Either one will do what you want, only significant difference is the usb and ipod stuff.

if you're planning on using a usb device or an ipod get the sony. otherwise, it doesn't matter.  For what you need, they're basically identical.  pic the one you think looks better.
