Yeah pretty much the title,,

Is it really worth it to get the X48 Rampage Formula Republic of Gamers over the P5Q when the former is £180 and the latter £90?

I know that the X48 runs crossfire far better, but upgrading to a single better card is allways cheaper than getting two of one card (at least here in Denmark)...

Not planning on any major OC'ing

The specs of the rest of the setup is:
Intel E8400
Kingston HyperX T1 2x2Gb PC8500 1066Mhz
Corsair HX650W
Sapphire 4870 Toxic (OC)

also: Please don't give me any referrences to prices or puchasing sites such as newegg.
those are the prices they are available for in Denmark and those are the prices I will be paying!

Comments are welcome!

Asus has better support/warranties for its top end models, such as the Rampage.

The X48 chipset is also better for overclocking and other junk, but the P45 is also very good, and also supports crossfire.

I see no real reason to buy the X48 unless you see a feature you want that the P45 doesn't have.

I find my P5Q-PRO overclocks fantastically.

Indeed, P45 is very good for OC'ing.

Just X48 is a lil bit better.

P45 OCs just as well as X48

P45 crossfire performance is nearly identical to X48 (maybe 1-3% lower performance)

P45 runs cooler than X48

P45 is cheaper than X48

Get a P5Q pro or deluxe
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

Negative...

Deluxe is too expensive

Pro only features crossfire which I don't need and the P5Q has some awesome looking heatsinks

You'll need some extra airflow over those heatsinks. They suck at cooling
