That's loaded vcore in cpu-z (and how is that alot of vcore for 65nm I know people who run 1.55+ according to cpuz 24/7 ) really don't remember what the bios setting is (1.5**) and i use eist and c1e to drop vcore and multi on idle. this board has alot of vdroop/drop it idles @ 1.51 without them but 1.42 with.max wrote:

All I'm saying is that 1.47Vcore is a fair amount of voltage for a q6600 @ 3.6GHz. Maybe some tweaking of the other voltages and a Vdroop mod could help minimize the voltage / temps / noise or increase you OCjaymz9350 wrote:

Edit: Also this board isn't the best OC'er for quads, With a better board I could probably run less vcore as I've seen other so it when switching to a more quad friendly board (in case you didn't notice in the pic it's an Abit IP35-pro)
The voltage settings I have are vcoree, cpu vtt, and mch (besides the southbridge) no matter how much any others get this is the lowest vcore I can get 3.6 stable on all 4 cores (3 of 4 are good at a few notches down) I think the main limit is the board itself not the chip. I've seen others switch boards and get stable with around .1 less vcore.max wrote:

anything below 1.55V is considered safe for 65nm ... providing your cooler can handle it

If your stable your safe. Every chip is different but having to use low vcore isn't something to complain about. How long did you stress it?Little BaBy JESUS wrote:
Can too little voltage damage ur CPU at all? because im running e8400 @ 4.05 Ghz... on 1.29v and have used OCCT and Prime96 and they both say the overclock is stable... it just seems like a very small amount of voltage increase since some people are running 1.4 for 4ghz...
did the normal 1 hour on OCCT and i dont remember exactly but a couple hours on Prime95... i watched a ~2 hour movie and went out for lunch so ill just say 3 hours.jaymz9350 wrote:

Why on earth did you order the Q6600 when the E8400 dual-core costs the same and performs way betterMAGUIRE93 wrote:
