Man I've been a real annoyance lately asking you guys for help, but I just downloaded FULL 1.2 patch so i don't need to patch each patch manually. When it was done, a window popped up that said "550 is not in your directory". I didn't kinow or care about it so I just xed it out and clicked on the patch 1.2. When I did, nothing happened. I tried again, the same result came out. I'm getting really pissed with EA and Dice...Please help!

PLEASE ALSO LOOK HERE TOO I NEED HELP WITH THIS TOPIC TOO!!!

The current patch version is 1.21 not 1.2.

Recently, I patched Battlefield 2 to 1.2 patch and it's been very strenuous lately. I may have said this before, so I patched 1.2 and tried logging in, but it said "failed to connect, check your netowkr connections bla bla". I tried rebooting and turning off firewall like some said, but that still didn't work. So I came to the resolution of reinstalling bf2, but now my problems are even worse. When I tried to reinstall bf2, I got to the third disk and past all those things (gamespy, register at EA). Last thing was agreeing to this license thing. When I put a check in the yes box, a window popped up saying "updating directx 9.0c etc. " I waited and waited but it was unusual for it to stay there for 30 minutes... so I quit and repeated. I've been doing this for like 5 times now and I don't know what to do please help? (Also, it certainly wasn't a program that wasn't responding. In task manager, it said it was running and it wasn't a not responding program)

I tried starting bf2 and it works (I guess I installed all the features) and I'm going to patch it soon, but I'm afraid that I didn't update DIrectX 9.0c fully because of the incident I posted above, and I may get the same problem of logging in and getting the "failed to connect" thing again...

I also didn't get the bf2 shortcut icons , but I dont think theyre that important :p
