I have the amazing O&O defrag, it works fine etc...but it has a minor problem that now and then it won't start itself when i boot windows. I can load up O&O but then i get an error saying it hasn't started the client(?). So i go into services.msc and have to manual start it. Any ideas whats wrong?

As i said, this doesn't happen all the time. I've tried reinstalling it etc... I'm on XP SP2 and i doubt posting my system specs would be any help, right?

Is it set to ottomatic?

Have you set any schedules?

Also, Start > Run > net start "o&o defrag"

Yeah its set to automatic, i've tried going in and disabling it and re-setting to auto but the problem still occurs.

So i can schedule O&O to start with windows each time, yeah?

You can schedule it to do defrags weekly, on boot time, etc.

If the service is set to automatic, but no longer running, then it's stopped at some stage while you're logged on, perhaps triggered by a completed job.

Of course if you've never known it can do jobs, then it must be another issue outside of the program, I expect. Mebe a conflict with something else.

Did you allow it to become the primary Defrag tool?

Do you have oodag as your screen saver?

Yes i selected it as the primary defrag tool.

I don't have oodag as my screen saver as i don't use one, my monitor just sleeps after 20 minutes idle time. But oodag does run as a process all the time.

Also just to digress, i've been using /name defrag, but what suits better to a gaming PC? /access?

I use /access.

Whilst the O&O window is selected, hit F1, then look at the O&O Defrag Methods- it explains what all the different types do.
