A 28-year-old Tampa, Fla., man says he hopes to convince prospective employers of his ingenuity by auctioning his resume on eBay.

Matt Johnson, whose background is in marketing, was laid off last month from a consulting firm in the Tampa area, where unemployment rates are near 8 percent.

Johnson said he sent out hundreds of resumes before turning to eBay as a way to stand out, The St. Petersburg (Fla.) Times reported Tuesday.

Johnson posted his sealed resume Monday, with a starting bid of $20 and a promise to give half the proceeds to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

"You are viewing an example of my highly effective and creative marketing skills," Johnson wrote in his listing. "Allow me to promote YOUR product line or company!"

Johnson declined to discuss what the sealed resume reveals, saying that would defeat the fun and the purpose of the listing, the Times reported.

The unemployed, single father is willing to travel but said he would prefer to remain in Tampa near his daughter. "This is where my roots are," he said.

I don't see any links to the actual auction, but I think it's just for his resume, not himself >.<

So you have to pay to see his qualification, that hundreds have already turned down?

Fuck that.
