If a reviewer thinks a non-exclusive title is better than either console's exclusive titles, why not?

Borrowed GTA4 from a friend and was actually, very entertaining.

The gameplay, the driving, the physics, the graphics, the storyline in GTA, the multiplayer, the amount of detail in the city, it's all pretty much spot on. Yes, yes I have been playing GTA 4 again recently, and yeah, it's still an awesome game.

Shouldn't have won the console specific awards though. They should have been games exclusive to those consoles.

GTA 4 still is probably the best game I've played this year though.

I never really liked it after the novelty wore off, after about a week. The missions have 0 depth and are so repetitive, go somewhere, kill someone/people, go back. Every mission.

Well when you look at it like that every game is repetitive, and quite alot of the missions had different ways of doing them if you bothered to try and do them differently. Also there were things like choices which affect the rest of the game etc.. I'd say it's just another case of reverse hype, if one group of people suddenly start hating on a game everyone else wants to get in on the act. You're never going to be able to tackle things like this so I'm just gonna stay out here on the sidelines and watch

edit: LBP should've won everything, including best X360 game (only saying that cos serge is here )

GameTrailers is bullshit anyways.  You know they looked at the games that had the highest review rating and picked them.  Plus, their reviews are always missing a certain part, or bias, or outright bullshit.  Their review of NFS:UC, for example, practically made the game sound like utter garbage, when in fact it was a decent game.  And then their review of GTA:IV made it sound like the game is everything anyone could ever want, when the game has it's flaws, which of course they don't list.  Their all getting their palms greased by certain developers, it's a just a matter of who.

As for GTA:IV, I enjoyed it.  I played it before the PS3 update of trophies came out, and borrowed it from a friend.  Am I going to start a new story to get the trophies?  Of course not, that's a waste of my time, and bullshit to begin with.  I enjoyed playing it for the story, and afterwards to fuck around in SP, and multiplayer.  However, most of the players online in Free Roam are complete fucktards, and seem to mistake it for Deathmatch, and find it exciting to run around killing everyone.  Singleplayer, well, there is only so many times to jump off the empire starte building, drive a car off a building, run people over, car bombs in star junction, etc. it just gets lame after a while.

I'd like to try Fallout 3, apparently it's incredibly epic, sounds like a good one.

Why does it have to be exclusives? GTA 4 on the 360 was better than any of the exclusives IMO. Gears was good, but not nearly as deserving of GotY as Fallout 3 or GTA4.
