Nice!!! It's not a RAM whore! YAY!!! MS better not fuck it up too hard ...

My only question is this: How did you guys with current existing OSs on your HDDs get Windows 7 on without having to erase all your data on the drive when you made the new partition?

What did it do with your msn? I was using version 8.5 (the latest beta doesn't support msn plus last time i checked therefore won't work with gmsn for my g15, which i can't live without ), which version were you using?
Live Messenger 2009. MSN now acts as a normal application (not in notification area anymore) and you have serveral options by right clicking on it. (Now to think of it, those were the same options as windows vista had)
I shall install the beta soon then

I put it on an IDE drive.

You can always shrink the old partition and make a new one next to it
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

Really? Hm. Never really messed with partitions before other than creating them, lol.

yeah, it was easy for me, didn't have to shrink anything because i had 40gb of unpartitioned space hanging around on one drive

i think it was left over from my old vista partition

Any point in trying it with 1 GB RAM?

Windows 7 is certainly a huge improvement over Windows Vista and other versions. I can only describe it as having the really neat features and eye-candy of Vista and the stability of Windows XP. It's very clear that Microsoft's main goal with Windows 7 is performance and stability. Microsoft has also made it clear that the system requirements to run Windows 7 is very light. You will be able to run Windows 7 on the same systems that Windows XP runs on and you won't need advanced computers with 4GB of RAM and 4Ghz processors, which is a huge break in tradition. Usually with each operating system release, Microsoft adds to the system requirements, but this time, Microsoft is cutting them back.

That caught my eye and the fact that you can run it on the same specs as XP is something great.
