If you have a p45 mobo you're more than fine. Just let us know when you get it and a friendly nerd will help you up your voltage.

Don't know the price in the US but Corsair dominators are pretty nice

Just make sure you get 2x2 and not 4x1 or 1x4 since the former prevents you from upgrading in the future and the latter has slower timings than 2Gb blocks...

still, nice to keep your options open though,, The build I'm getting within the next couple of weeks should last me at least 2 years and probably 3-4 with a new GFX card along the way...

Yer in my opinion OCZ Reaper, Crucial Ballistics and Corsair dominator are the best RAM around

Meh, instead of going crossfire I am getting a single PCIx16 motherboard and going for a GPU upgrade instead... so far I have not seen a single Crossfire/SLi solution that was worth it... at least at our prices...

allways cheaper to buy 1 new than 1 more of the same which doesn't give the same performance as 1 new

true. the only reason i would go crossfire is if down the track im alittle strapped for cash but would like a graphics upgrade. id throw in another 4870 (which would be alot cheaper by then)

Latter is better if you overclock, at least they are said to all contain Micron D9 chips. The new Reapers aren't D9 afaik..

CF/SLI is great value if you get another card second hand at the release of newer models.

Meh, here the prices stay the same, you can find an old processor that is more expensive than a brand new E8400...

same goes for GFX cards.. my current 7900GTO goes for £230 and the 4870 TOXIC goes for £220

Second hand cards are pretty darn hard to track down tbh...
and questionable when it comes to how they have been treated...

Warranty is a couple of years for most vendors, so it really shouldn't matter how they are treated. Besides most people keep their tech well. I am the happy owner of two second hand 8800GT's, and I got them both for cheaper than one was at launch.

Yeah, but here you have to count in tax and the fact that we are only ~ 6 million people, which limits the chance of finding good quality second hand products... and tbh I would rather pay £20 more and get something new...

Tax on second-hand products? O_o

And we are 5.2 million here

And for £20 there is no sense, but when talking about cases like mine, for half the price it certainly is worth it.

The other day (12-30-08) this exact RAM was $34 USD after the $30 rebate.  I went to buy it the next day and it was this current price .  Still, its probably what I'll get when I upgrade soon.

Srsly, 34 bucks for this would be such a good deal.  I'm still amazed/depressed over it...
