The case is the same here, but second-hand ones are still cheaper than new ones. We aren't comparing cross-countries here.FloppY_ wrote:

Tax on second-hand products? O_oFloppY_ wrote:
Yeah, but here you have to count in tax and the fact that we are only ~ 6 million people, which limits the chance of finding good quality second hand products... and tbh I would rather pay £20 more and get something new...
And we are 5.2 million here
And for £20 there is no sense, but when talking about cases like mine, for half the price it certainly is worth it.
Yeah you got lucky I guess
EDIT: And happy second-hand 8800GT, E7200, 4800+ and 3870 owner here.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
