Well I have decided that I'm going to get the Storm later today, as I am eligible for an upgrade. Any reason why I shouldn't get it? I want to be able to access internet and stuff, so non 3G phones are out of the question. I do not want to switch providers, so iPhone is out of the question. I have looked at the reviews on YouTube, and I think it is the right phone for me. I will know for sure when I actually play around with it at the store, but I would like some input from people who already have experience with it. Thanks.
Are you going on a plan, or buying the phone outright?

Read the review on Engadget. You DO NOT want the Storm. One of the more conventional Blackberrys, sure, but not the Storm. Look into one of the Windows Mobile options, too. Try and get the newest WinMo OS, too.
If you were on a GSM carrier, your options would be much wider in regards to Samsung, Sony, HTC, etc.

I have decided against the Storm. Going to check out the Omnia and Curve when I go to the store.
Because he doesn't want to switch to a different network, because the pos is only on one network, he said it right there you ultimate fanboykylef wrote:

Storm is
Do it Ig.
Do it Ig.
Storm is quite far from . I would actually deem it a piece of shit. I mainly text message, and that phone fails horribly at text input. All touchscreen phones do. The Omnia is worse, Jens. I like the BlackBerry Curve, but the little scroll thing is fucking retarded, and I won't buy it because of that. Guess I'm going to have to switch providers.
I have the Instinct and I think its pretty good for text messaging, far better than the iPhone for surephishman420 wrote:

I looked at the Instinct, and it was OK--definitely better than any Verizon phone. I'm way too picky, though, so I'll probably end up keeping the phone I have now until something I like comes out.
What don't you like about it? I didnt like it all that much when I first got it but now that I'm used to it, its really good.
I don't know. Only messed with it for a minute. What's good about it?Winston_Churchill wrote:

It's a fucking phone. It's not a dress you're going to wear for the prom.Just buy some good looking phone.Or buy one with a stylus and text messaging will be easier!

Well I have an ipod touch as well which has the same keyboard as the iphone so I compare it with that. The Instinct has haptic response, so everytime you hit a button or a letter on the keyboard it gives a little vibration to let you know you hit the key, I find it really useful. One thing that drove me nuts with the touch is that it auto corrects your spelling mistakes, the Instinct has a spellcheck where you touch the underlined word and it gives you suggestions. Some things don't seem intuitive at first, like having to hit phone -> dialer -> type in number to call (or phone -> contacts -> persons name), but after using it for a couple days it makes sense. The internet on it is pretty good, its got the touch interface like the iphone, just you have a scroll bar to zoom instead of pinching. Overall I'd give it a 9/10phishman420 wrote:

I'll keep it in mind, but I'm probably going to go with something AT&T has.Winston_Churchill wrote:

FYI 3G iPhones can be unlocked now. Although I haven't played around much with a Storm.
Verizon phones don't have SIM cards.kylef wrote:

Guess I'm just going to get an iPhone. I can sell my iPod touch, and that will pay for most of the phone.

I love mine.
Not to say the Storm is bad, but I've tried it out before...still prefer my iPhone. Plus, I use iTunes anyways, so it's way more convenient. Any questions you have, shoot 'em here.
the storm is bad, the sensor when you turn the phone takes literally 5 seconds to changePoseidon wrote:

You can scratch the storm like a bitch and it'll be fine.
That's got to be a good thing.
