Un-patching? WTF!

Last time I played I positively had 1.21 and the message on sign in was that stupid 1.21 thing (get it now, or whatever) Now I log in and it says download EF now, for only 10 dollars (sucker) and for some reason I now have version 1.12! Yeah.. somehow the game decided it would be awesome if it un-patched, most likely because EA knew I was poor and anticipated this; so they thought I should get a nice kick in the asshole instead of some new shit. (please, before flaming check sarcasm detectors) So now here I am with what appears to be 1.12, and I can't patch because the massive 3g install didn't go away with the 1.21 info, and when I try and re-patch it wont (the log says it's because a newer version already exists, WHAT A SURPRISE!). Anyone know how I might fix this without going into EA's main office with a high powered automatic rifle, only to reef off round after high calibre round into helpless and moronic employees who can't apply a FUCKING patch, all while laughing manically at the sweet relief (I know you've all considered it). *pissed* >:@

PS.. looked, but could not find, ea's forum (for bf2?) anyone know where that is hiding? I reaaallly want to let them know what I think of this.

Yeah, exactly. This is a forum for people to COMPLAIN in, not be jerks. Go find another one. *Fuels flame thrower* I dont even want to start man. And yes, I HAD 1.21, now I have 1.12. That looks to me like it UN-patched ITSELF. I did nothing. I was just going to see if anyone had any ideas to fix before trying that as a last resort, asshole. Have a nice day!! And CLEARLY re-install would be the SISTER of un-install, not brother. His brother would the Setup Wizard. Abuh.

the version number in-game doesn't seem to have changed. You probably are running 1.21, but it will still say 1.12xxxxxx somthing. Mine does this.

If ur familiar with the Windows registry you can solve it there...i,m at work so i cant explain it step for step but it is simple

Because if something failed but didnt recover itself the windows registry of BF2 stand on 1.21...and as long it says 1.21 the PC thinks u already have it.

got to your Start bar - got to Execute - Type Regedit

and then this is just a guesswork because i,m at Work
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - Software - EA games(i suppose) BF2 - and from there on look something with the key with the 1.21 in it. possible that the name says VERSION - Key= 1.21
delete that key and repatch it...if its done succesfully it will work

otherwise you can search in the registry
Edit - Search and try the word BF2 or Battlefield2

Jeebus, what crawled up your ass and died. He was having a problem and made the appropriate post in the appropriate section. Not only that, he was civil. The least you could've done is extend the courtesy....but noooooo, you had to make like a human functioning on their last remaining brain cell.

Obviously he realizes that uninstall and reinstall are options, but if he can fix it without going thru all that pain in the ass, why not ask if it's possible.

it didnt unpatch. 1.21 shows up as 1.1.2 ingame. youre still running 1.21, you just never noticed the version number before.
