Well today I tried to return a wireless adapter for the 360 to Game I told them I tested the network to make sure it was able to run XBL it did, tested the wireless adapter found the network but didnt connect so I tested it with a ethernet cable(supplied with sexbox) connected fine, so today I went to game tried to return it they basically said its your fault it doesnt work properly with the network so we cant give you a full refund I said why and they said we cant refund you because theres nothing wrong with the adapter and all we would do is give you another, I said can you refund the money i spent on it and they just went STFU and GTFO our shop (not litterally) mind.

So all I got was £24 on a gift for the 45 i spent on it, fucking robbing bastards

have any of you had experiences like these?
Dear God please let my karma one day reach 100, whether it be tomorrow or 1000 years in the future i want it to happen.

That's all they can do. Sucks I know, but they just can't do it. Buy your hardware from somewhere online like www.overclockers.co.uk

GAME used to have a no-questions-asked return policy, except ofc with pc games.

Now look at this shit:

    *  Any software may be returned for refund or exchange within 28 days of the despatch date, providing that the seal remains unbroken on the software.
    * Faulty software where the seal has been broken may be returned up to 3 months after the despatch date.
    * Hardware or peripherals may be opened for the purpose of inspection (but not used) and may be returned for refund or exchange within 28 days of the despatch date (7 days for TVs). Please note that hardware must contain every component part (cables, memory sticks etc.) before it can be accepted as a return.
    * Faulty hardware may be returned for a like-for-like exchange up to 12 months after the despatch date.
    * This does not affect your statutory rights.

Which in your case basically means ''if you want to return it you just need to lie''.

Break the circuit board inside, take it to another game shop, and tell them that it was dead when you bought it.

Then again, you've already returned it

Although, yeah, that fucking sucks

GameStop is usually very good with returns...I bought an HDMI cable from them for my 360, not knowing that my 360 actually didn't support HDMI (lol 2006 model), went home and tried it to see there was no slot, brought it back and they took it back even though it was opened.

So, I guess it depends from store to store...albeit this was GameStop and not GAME.

That's against trading standards law in the UK.

Tell them they wasn't not able to provide a full service as to whether the equipment was good enough and had to be tested because so that's THEIR fault, then threaten to take them to the tribunal.

UK retailers as so scared to upset customers these days they "will" bend over backwards so they won't get a bad name for them self.

What's the worst that can happen, they tell you to get lost again?

I really like gamestop, when I bought Crysis there was a lady getting somethin as a gift. She obviously had no idea what she was talking about, and the guys helped her out a lot, and it came up that she needed an SD card for it, she asked if they sold them at gamestop and the guy at the counter said they did, but she's be better off looking at best buy.

Then the guy asked if I had a supercomputer for Crysis, which apparently I do.

Yeah, GameStop is actually pretty good for most stuff...except for game/hardware trade-ins. You're better off going to PnT, you'll get a better amount back.

A lot of people hate GameStop, but my 2 local ones are actually quite efficient, and the retail guys actually know quite a bit about games.

Depends on the GameStop you go to, there are some with complete douchebags that work at them, or there are some that are staffed very well. I know a few people who work at one and they're very good to the customers, the problem is the customers are very very very unforgiving for that.

GAME are a joke for getting refunds, i don't blame the staff for it, but the bigwigs in charge of the company should be linched.

Maybe they didn't believe you? I mean, you said it didn't work, yet you asked for a refund. The staff might have thought that it wass not a bona fide request, but rather an excuse for a refund. I guess we just have to be careful as consumers.

Yeah, why not show them why it doesn't work.
You do know that MS would instantly replace a faulty one if it really was.... Unless it's not an official one. If they replace, Game should as well.

Problem is, with a network adapter, you can't prove if it works or not... Simply because every persons network is different.

I got a full refund on a scratched pre-owned game I bought with no receipt

offering you a replacement adapter is reasonable enough
