Either reset and maintained his rank, or he used that name prefix bug. Somebody posted it on bf2s like a gazillion years ago and them mods removed the prefix/topic. However some people did try it and actually became 4 star generals with 5k global points lol.

You have to be 3 star before you can be a 4 star and you cannot lose rank (unless you are reset for cheating or w/e)
and in order to get promoted you must be in the top 50 at the end of the month. Therefore the it is the top 50, 3 star generals become 4 stars at the end of the month... Same thing dude
