2 things I hate about uni in England:

1.) The binge culture is rediculous. I miss going out just once a week and since moving there I'm all for putting an insane tax on alcohol similar to what exists here.
3.)The weather
Plus you're at the infamous Oxbridge-rejects Uni (along with Durham and Bristol, lolwat) so naturally it's full of people that are even more repugnantly cuntish and self-important than those that actually attain great enlightenment and fulfillment and get into Oxford/Cambridge .

Lolpewnt.

Edit: Although I agree about binge-drinking culture, the first year is the worst. All the super-coddled posh kids finally escaping from daddy and mummy for the first time, going wild and acting as what I can only describe like typical year 9's- getting superwasted and then talking for weeks about "How wasted I was that one night". Yes yes, a 19 year old can drink him/herself into delirium if they so wish, very good, very good. The weather isn't so bad though, I abso-fucking-lutely love it when it's either springtime misty on the Magdalen grove near me or just generally frosty/snowy... makes me think I'm in a Harry Potter movie or some shit. Awesome.

Fucking qft

...and the whole"lad" culture is just stupid. I don't see the point in drinking your mate's sick, getting naked in a club to the baywatch theme song, getting naked in general with a bunch of dudes around you, constantly talking about Rugby, getting "lashed" every single night or just being an obnoxious douche.

...and the girls...wtf...they dress similar to a 14 year old norwegian girl and just kiss any guy who plays rugby right in the ass.

I got stuck in halls with a bunch of these people and although getting along with them for 2 weeks I've realized they are some of the most boring people in the world completely uninterested in doing anything remotely constructive.

My corridor neighbour doesn't even know who Stalin was...HOW THE FUCK?!

I pretty much only hang out with internationals now although there are too few at Exeter. I'm reapplying for a course at the university of oslo because I'm sick of it. London would be pretty cool too as it seems a lot more diverse. UCL esp.

EDIT: The weather is so lame...it changes every 5 mins.

It's a shame you don't actually like Exeter, sounds to me like you're describing typical Rah's. You'll get them in all the top-tier British unis... sad reality of our society I'm afraid. UCL won't be any different, perhaps a little more cosmopolitan and varied but still full of middle-upper class rugby/polo playing UK-jock equivalents all the same .

Not knowing who Stalin is... lol'd.

Also I would hang it out til second year where you can rent private sector with a bunch of people you genuinely get along with. Much more fun apparently, if you can do that at Exeter. First year at University is probably the first time you're ever exposed to such a large number of 'new' people, where it becomes most apparent that there are just some people in the world that you'll never get along with or like. Cool guys and absolute cocks, gotta filter through the crowd!

xoxo

A Level at my school is half-decent. I don't mind it anymore, like I did for the first five years. You are going to do it so you may as well make the effort.

Ted is both offended and curious about your post as he is actually living in a binge-drinking environment and an area renowned for shitty fucking weather.
