Wel basically I want to use my joystick for all my flying. Now, I want to use the stick of the joystick (understand?) for Strafe Left, Strafe Right, and Pitch Forward, and Pitch Backward. Big dilema though it will let me set it to Strafe Left and Strafe Right with the joystick. And not Pich Forward and Pitch Backward at the same time. So is there program I can download or something so I can use my joystick for all of the above buttons at the same time?

If you don't understand basically when I want to set it to Strafe Right to right on my joystick. Strafe left, to left on my joystick. And set Pitch Forward to up on my joystick and down for Pitch Backward on my joystick and it will not let me have these binded at the same time! Please read my post here...I'm going to need it to be set that way for me to ever be able to fly with a joysitck.

By strafe you mean roll?  Well for the secondary controls click within the field and then press Esc to clear any entries.

Only move the joystick in one direction for a certain axis. So to configure rolls, either pick roll left or roll right but not both, then move the joystick in the corresponding direction. BF2 will automatically bind that joystick axis to that control for both directions. Then the yaw is done by twisting your joystick.

it's nothing difficult of different

just click on pitch down as if you are going to change the key, and press your stick down

and when you do that, pitch up is going to get registered automatically

same for strafing and rolling

Yeah I know. Let's say I have up and down set like you said above. Then I try to set left and right on my joystick to left and right. No can do!

Nevermind. Thanks for the twisting joysitck thing CackinBallz, I didn't know my joystick could do that! Woot, I love planes now. You made a plane whore.

For a moment there I thought I found someone with my same problem.  I have a Saitek X45 and I cannot get it to recognize pitch up/down.  Everything else maps just fine.  I just can't get it to do that one thing and as a result I'm grounded.  <sigh>

I had problems with my Saitek gamepad ( before I could find an adapter for my MS Sidewinder ), but that's neither here nor there. With the Saitek it told me that an unmapped motion was already mapped when clearly I hadn't yet. I switched up the order in which I inputed the commands and it worked eventually. I usually clear out all the commands then start from the top and work my way down. That for some reason caused a conflict somewhere along the line.
