Heh, those cars weren't good enough? Did somebody else honestly expect those to be better than the ZR-1? The car is a work of art. Don't the older Skylines have notorious transmission issues too? Why give a car that has had known problems in the past that we still don't see fixed the car of the year? Heh, I remember a video I see a month ago where somebody had a Skyline and got a custom transmission for $10k. They were bragging about their car and put it on the drag strip. They moved maybe 1 foot once the light turned green because even the custom transmission isn't good enough. XD
I agree it is an amazing car & I would love to spend some time giving one of those beasts a good thrashing. but we Europeans like our cars to last a bit longer before things start failing. I mean its OK for a TV presenter to say its his car of the year but in the real world build quality means alot.
