I guess this could be posted in the proper forum (feature requests) but I think this one deserves a bit more attention... Let me start by saying that really I love this game and I commend DICE/EA on their efforts. I feel however, that there are some fundamental problems with this game that they continually chose to ignore. The best source of game ideas are from that of the fans and sometimes, its the little things that make the game stellar.
The most basic of all my requests have nothing to do with game-balance problems, new content, or even hard to find bug fixes (au la red tag)... * its simply the ability to play my game.. ALL OF IT.*
Mixed Servers. (BF2, Special Forces, Euroforce)
I would like to see ranked/unranked servers with a 'mixed' map rotation, I just dont see why they havent allowed this already. There certainly wouldnt be very much needed to make this happen. It's not as if we are going so far as to ask for grappling hooks in karkand... I dont care about that, i just would like to play the maps I own!
I dont see why EA resists this idea. obviously, these servers would become hugely popular. The way I see it, if more people would play on these servers, more and more servers would *become* MIXED, and therefor EA would sell more expansion packs since it would become more and more of a requirment! I think we'de all win, if this was allowed.
just think.... these types of servers would have an orange "2" icon. wede see map rotations like:
1. sharqi
2. karkand
3. ghost town
4. warlord
5. wake
6. surge
7. mass destruction
wash, rinse, and repeat...
Personally, I think the BF2 community needs to put more pressure on EA/DICE to implement some of these BASIC features. They seem to only make things right AFTER it pisses off enough people. To their credit they have come through on certain features, but really, how much whining and complaining did it take?
I would strongly urge anyone who feels like they want some change to write EA, post on every board, send this URL, copy and paste this text, or whatever. If we continually send them the message, we might actually get to see a "24/7 Songhua/IronGator server"... ...Just kidding.
Note: I couldn't find an email address but I think we should hammer productsubmissions@ea.com... any one else have any ideas?
