You'd have to be dumb to sleep inside a car in -15c temps to start with. Even dumber to turn the heater on all night, you'd kill the battery. And dumber further still to leave the exhaust fumes build up inside a closed garage. And to make it worse, the heater is bringing poisonous air into the car!A pair of young lovers have died, after they left the engine of their car running in a bid to keep warm as they fell asleep after having sex.
Britain's Daily Mail reports 18-year-old Reinhard Wallecker, and 17-year-old Stefanie Tanzer suffered carbon monoxide poisoning as they slept, after the lethal gas from the car's exhaust filled an enclosed garage.
The pair were reportedly in the garage of the Wallacker family home, in Tenitz, Austria, in a bid to get some privacy as Wallacker's parents were in the house.
It is believed the couple turned on the car's heater to keep warm, with the temperature outside at -15C.
Tanzer's father found the couple the next morning, but was unable to resuscitate the teenagers.
"It is just so tragic. Everyone here knew how in love they were," one neighbour told The Daily Mail.
"They were always being seen around town kissing and cuddling. No one can believe this has happened."
