I am looking to BUY some new FPS games and was wondering which ones my system can handle and still get a decent frame rate.

I am looking at Company of heroes, brothers in arms, crysis, far cry 2, dead space, left 4 dead, GTA 4
anyone have these games or other ones that you can recommend?

my system specs are in my sig.

thank you for for any replies

Your computer will be able to handle all of those you mentioned at decent frame rates. Maybe not maxed out graphics but still pretty high.

Call of Duty: World at War is awsome too.

Company of Heroes is an RTS, but its a great game.
Brothers in Arms is a lot of fun but an obvious console port, still fun though, but only for the Single Player.
Left 4 Dead if you have friends who have it.
Far Cry 2 is good for Singleplayer, but only if you like wandering around a lot, not a lot of "instant action"
Crysis singleplayer is pretty fun as well, not so much MP. Dont know about the expansion/ stand alone thing.
All the Call of Duty's are good, TF2 is good, but you didn't list them, might have already.

Watch out tho, many people have complained about COD:WAW, crashings and freezes.

Fallout 3 is a must tbh...

COD4 is epic aswell...

If you haven't got it already, get the Orange Box... It was a must when it was released and it still is tbh...

edit: misread topic.. sry...

DO NOT BUY GTA IV even new high-end cards have trouble running it decently -.-

that's because the game is CPU limited.

No, the i7 is the new line of Intel processors that replaced the Core 2.

As for games, L4D is a riot for LAN parties.  Just had one a couple of weeks ago and we had a great time with that.

Get the 4870 OC instead of the GTX260 tbh... more value for money...

The GTX260 216 needs a 20% pricecut to even begin competing with the 4870

I'm no fan of either brand, I just buy what makes the most sence (read: best price/performance @ my desired level)

also: I have said it tons of times before... SLi / Crossfire is NOT a valid future-upgrade solution... 1 single great card has allways best'ed two cards of some previous generation

Hold on.  I have GTA IV for the PC and here are my specs:  E8400 @ 3.0 Ghz, 4GB RAM @ 800Mhz, 8800GTS 512MB @ overclocked quite a lot.

The game runs fine and it looks great too.  I have the textures on medium and view distance on 50 out of 100 (the highest it lets me put it with only 512MB of video RAM).  My cousin, who has a GTX 260 and a Q6600, has the settings almost maxed out.  I don't know where you get the impression that GTA IV is too advanced for current computers, especially since my PC is nothing special and still runs it fine.

o right... I know lots of ppl who have needed that second card. U need to understand getting that second card for cheap very well might give him at if not the same but close performance with less the money compared to buying new. We'll see exactly this with GT212.

http://translate.google.com/translate?h … &tl=en
the price/performance ratio between 1GB HD 4870 and GTX 260 core 216 is ~5% win for ATi.
