[CoH] Can't I just play single player :(

I just installed Company of Heros, and I got to a log in screen and it says I have to download a patch to play online.. but I don't want to play online, I just want to play single player. There's only a download or cancel button and I can't log in to play single player..

Halp?

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. Okay lil problemo. I read online that installing Opposing Fronts will install the patches, but when the auto run starts, I hit install, then nothing happens.

I tried my brothers disc as well, but same thing.

Installing OF won't install all of the necessary patches, you will have the same problem.

As stupid as this would be I'm pretty sure it's a viable workaround. Kill your internet connection, then try it. When the login tries to connect to Relic Online it will fail, then ask you how you bought the game, and then depending on the choice you make it will have you validate your install. For example if you bought it in a retail store, it will ask you to insert your disk. Then you should be able to get in, you just won't be connected to Relic Online.
